Man critical after attack outside west-side gym

Thank goodness the D News post this artical. I may have gone there and not knowen that it was a dominantly gay membership. That was a close one. Thank you D News.

Exactly what does the gym license have to do with someone being attacked outside of the gym? Does your newspaper examine the business licenses of every business near crime scenes?

I agree with Homer, What does the last paragraph have to the with the attack? Does this make your story come off being scandalous, because you included a non related "dirty" little secret so the bashing is justified? Please explain yourself.

So let me get this right, a guy standing on the street gets suckered punched and could have bled to death but the MORMON OWNED Deseret news feels it has to add in that the establishment in question might have had some icky, scary, gay things going on once. What a typical Mormon bigoted attitude. Gee, I wonder what the story would be if one of your kids on a mission trip got suckered punched by a gay guy?

Lets see, after midnight, drunk 50 year old guy outside a known gay sex club, not a gym.

You gotta be smarter than a rock and not make it easy to be a crime victim. And most likely he got hit by a street prostitute also. Homeless guys do cruise that area.

Doug and Cubscoutii it is called stating what is known "around town" and disputing it by saying that the gym ISN'T involved in gay activities to prove what is truth. The last paragraph disputed the assumption that the gym had predominantly gay members. Next time read and understand before you respond.

No matter what anybody thinks of the newspaper coverage, or whether it was a "hate crime," it DEFINITELY was an aggravated assault with injuries, a second or first degree felony. If he dies, it'll be murder, plain and simple, whether he was gay or straight. SLPD please catch and take the offender off of the streets.
