Not the Jazz of old | 12:46 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Get better already you Nancys. Millsap is the only Stockton & Malone era type of guy. Well, I guess you could throw in Brewer, Miles, and Williams(last year especially - we will see what happens for the remainder of this year).
bozo | 4:50 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
how much longer will you milk you injury. Oh well, stay on the bench where the heartless deserve to be.
Ticked off | 7:04 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
This Jazz outfit ticks me off. A bunch of no names masquerading as NBA players. This is criminal to have so many D league players who couldn't make the roster of any other club. I'm fed up with this nonsense. You people watch them. The whole roster makes me want to throw up. Anybody that wants to make the comparison of Malone/Stockton with Boozer/Williams is just crazy. Jerry Sloan is too good a coach to get stuck with these wooshes. This is a doomed franchise....mark my words. They have no defensive concept whatsoever. This is going to be one of their worst seasons ever.

Kings love it when then Jazz come to town!
To: Ticked off | 8:33 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Do you even watch the Jazz? Apparently Not. And you are very wrong. D will can drive he is stronger. faster and a better scorer than stockton ever was. and D will is 24. Stockton however was a great passer and deron is getting there. Boozer however lacks the defense of Malone. but have you seen his footwork. Come on now! Dont state pointless ignorant facts. Unless you know what you are talking about!
Laynerr | 8:46 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Wow "Ticked Off" you are really living up to the name. I sense a trivial hostility coming from you that found a home directed at a professional sports team. Unless of course you are trying to motivate the Jazz through reverse psychology, which is affable also since I doubt any stray Jazz member that happens to glance at your comment would listen to your rantings. All is well and good though, if you feel better. I know I do.
Miles | 9:01 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
You all can stay on the bench. My man CJ is logging the minutes while all you whimps stay crippled up. At this pace, CJ will be an All Star by next year. Sloan keep giving him minutes, then trade him to a team that wants to win.
JazzFan4ever | 9:19 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Keep it simple...

I just hope they play Defense and more Defense above all else.Above Stats, Above Ego, Above a Big Paycheck. Out work them. Out hustle them. Out play them. Win just win.
BoOoO | 9:26 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Wow.....Why even follow the Jazz at all? Some of you guys are so pathetic. Yeah, so we've had horrible luck with injuries. It's a physical game where your running and jumping, what do you expect? They do it every day for atleast a few hours. I'm sure they will come back as soon as possible. The Jazz are still one of the better teams in the NBA. And I know we will win our division. Mark my words!!
Yazz | 9:46 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
The Wizards have one win - against the Utah Spazz. How to you like them apples Ute/Jazz fan?
Lakers fan | 9:47 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Yeah u guys will win your division, and then lose to the Lakers again. We beat you last year and we didnt even have Bynum on the roster. Boozer can't play against one 7-footer let alone two (Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum)
Kevin Martin | 9:59 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
I hope Kevin Martin is out so we have a chance in Sacramento tonight.

If he is back we will be toast with no AK to even remotely inhibit his shooting.

We need AK and Brevin in the second unit. They are awesome together.

D-Will has two areas he needs to improve on. Not making STUPID turnovers AND start passing the ball when he drives to the hoop. He tries to go for the layup far too often. Especially while he is in this condition he ought to be passing off not crashing into 3 guys for a layup.

Brevin penetrates, draws 2-3 defenders, and then dumps it off to a team mate for a layup or dunk. Deron goes for the layup and gets pounded into the first row. I appreciate his toughness but I do not necessarily think it is the wisest choice.

On multiple D-Will drives/layup attempts the last couple of games I have paused my DVR. Deron has 3 defenders on him at the point of layup AND two team mates standing behind them ready for the dumpoff uncontested layup or dunk but he tries to lay it up instead.

He needs to watch more tape.
jazzfan | 10:00 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Man I can't believe Boozer. He is such a baby. This is going to show the entire NBA what type of player he really is. He has been accident prone his whole career. If O'Connor has a brain he'll let him leave. Millsap is much better. He plays defense and can score. Give Millsap a chance. As far as CJ Miles, anyone can run down the court and shoot. I'll be glad when his contract is up.
This is what we need. If we can afford Chris Bosh I am sold that he can bring Utah a championship. Keep D will, Millsap, Kirilenko, Brewer, Price, and Memo.
Re: jazzfan | 10:22 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
At the first opportunity, you need to get in Boozer's face and tell him what you really think. Be sure to let us know when you're going to "Man Up" so we've got time to get there and watch it go down.
Harpring... | 10:29 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
...needs to retire, his body is breaking down. Matt is a good guy and I feel sorry for him, he's been through a lot these last couple seasons with illnesses and injuries he's had. I think Denver and Portland will finish ahead of the Jazz in the division, the Jazz could learn a lesson or two from Portland about building an NBA team. Bringing guys like Boozer and Okur on the team who don't give an effort on defense is a formula for failure. I've always liked Chris Bosh too, he would be a step in the right direction. This will be a down year for the Jazz, injury problems and the talent isn't there anyway. Other teams have improved and passed the Jazz by while the Jazz stood still.
who brought the Starzz back? | 10:31 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
"Doubtful" is the perfect word I would use to describe Boozer! First, I'm "Doubtful" he is hurt enough to not play. Wimp. I'm "Doubtful" he even cares about playing for the Jazz in upcoming seasons. I'm "Doubtful" he has learned anything about defense in the past year. I'm "Doubtful" he performs in the playoffs....again. The only "Hope" I have with Boozer is that he plays well enough this year that his stock rises and we can get someone who'll help the Jazz get over the top!
Miles | 10:32 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Jazzfan: Why don't we trade for Marbury, he is available. Anyone can run down the court and shoot? There have been some stupid comments on here but yours tops them all. Cj happens to actually score when he shoots. His numbers are as good as Brewer's. But of course you think that Price is the answer too. Knight so outplays him. Price is only here because we were desperate for a backup last year.
Question??? | 10:37 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Do the Jazz have the Knicks draft pick this year no matter what?
shug rock | 11:02 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Not one of those Princesses sitting behind the bench has an injury that would keep Stockton, Malone, or Millsap out of a game. Of course Buttercup Boozer does just as much to keep the other team from scoring, sitting behind the bench, as he does when he is on the court. Please Please Please go to Miami Boozer. Your defense is so non-existant you could not get off the bench in the Olympics with your college coach coaching the team. I'm so tired of paying my hard earned money for my seats to watch you coast on defense. I want half my money back. You only play half the game.

Same Jazz - Different Day
What About Tapes | 11:13 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Can't management, coaches, players ect watch game film of other good defensive teams in this league and figure out what it takes to improve or change our defensive schemes to get better? I just don't get it. All we get is talk, I want to see the walk. This has been this way without much change for 20 years now. Torched from the outside, and players driving all the way to the basket untouched. When will it end?
L.A. Jazz Fan | 11:16 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
People; get a grip on yourselves. How would you like to be a Clippers, Wizards, or Thunder fan? At least we have a respectable record (especially when you consider all the injuries). By the way Yazz the Wizards have two wins (they beat the Warriors last week).

I feel that some of you are lost in the details of it all. You call Boozer weak even though he has proven that once healthy (the last two seasons) he is a force to be reckoned with. I agree that he had a poor playoffs last year; did you forget that the Jazz lost to the Bulls in Chicago by 40or50 points in the finals? (They had Malone, Stockton, Hornacek). You don't remember the decade long struggle they had just to get to the Finals. I watched those Jazz develop into a contender. But they had some time to work things out.

Take a chill pill, have some fun in other areas of your life; and cheer for the Jazz along the way.

As for Laker fans who are so psyched about their team: Don't forget that the Lakers have had probably the easiest schedule so far (including the most home games).
Weak Jazz | 12:02 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Has Jerry changed his defensive philosophy in ten years? twenty years? He doesn't like to play zone even when it's been more effective than his man to man defense. I have yet seen him put a zone defender in the area to combat the Jazz's soft pick and roll defense and or call a time out to stop another team's momentum. Half the time it looks like he is falling asleep on the bench!! Look the writing is on the wall with the whole Boozer and Memo thing, they are just to soft in the middle to be a serious contender. One of them has to go...I'd say Memo plays a little better Defense and he is a better shooter.

Brevin,AK and Milsap were giving us good minutes in the second unit because they play DEFENSE. Now we got NOTHING!! I'm excited for more SLOANisms. We didn't complete, people were drivng by us like we were asleep, We looked like we didn't know how to play basketball, we looked like we rolled the ball out there and just ran all over the place. Weak Jazz Weak!! Hopefully you all come to play tonight!!
Thank you LA Jazz fan... | 1:02 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
for saying something optimistic.
Everyone sounds like they've given up on the season. It's going to be okay.
Here are my top 10 recommendations for all of you negative Nancy's
10. Step back from the Ledge
9. Remember that you've only lost to one Western Conference Playoff contender (SPURS), and beaten 3 (Denver, Portland, Phoenix)
8. Think about how much of an improvement our swing positions have made from last year to now (AK RonnieB, and CJ....)
7. Be grateful Deron didn't end his season on Rose's foot
6. Remember, the average age of the starting lineup is 24 years old
5. Think of how many dunks you've seen thus far w/o Booz...imagine what it will be like when he gets back.
4. Look at the Clippers, and Wizards. 2 teams that thought they could make the playoffs at the beginning of the year, now with nothing to play for.
3. Look at the Hornets Record--and their team is completely healthy
2. Remeber that we have the Knicks pick in 2010, and it might be really good.
1. REMEMBER... you have no idea how good this team is yet. Be patient, when the team is healthy.... LOOK OUT LA!
Milk Man | 1:15 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Carlos can really milk an injury, some of the other guy's seem to be catching on as well.
JAFO | 1:34 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
these guys are all above average athletes, if not so they would not be playing professional sports. Playing defense is a state of mind and an attitude. The only reason they are not playing hard nosed defense is because they don't want to. Defense is the blue collar job in the NBA and too many guys are letting their ego get in the way of doing that.
To: Question??? | 1:43 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
The Jazz have the NY pick in either the 2009 or 2010 draft. The 2009 is a qualified pick and so the Jazz will probably get the 2010 pick. The pick might not be that good if D'Antoni can turn them around.
Re: Thank you LA Jazz Fan | 3:27 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Thank you for your top ten list and for showing what a true Jazz fan looks like. I've always been a Jazz fan - win or lose - and your list is a nice reminder of what we're cheering for.
casual fan | 4:45 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
The Jazz need Zelmo Beaty and Red Robbins.
bozo | 4:49 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
being antibozo isn't hating on our jazz it is just waking up to reality. Those who aren't ready to wake up you will join in the club next year when bozo is in miami. Lets sing miami by big willy style to bozo so he will leave.
magnus | 5:34 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Wow, sure are alot of haters out there today.

I think I am going to take a little break from these boards. Too much nonsense, too few fans, too little reason.

I know Miles and Jazzsmack will miss me so I won't stay away too long.

The Jazz will rise up and win the division. Once they get healthy they will be a force to be reckoned with, until then I don't think anybody really knows what they are.
Boozer | 5:36 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Mark my words, Boozer will not play unitl the middle of January. No player is "doubtful" for 2 weeks, they are out.
jazzjunkie | 3:01 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
some of you people have lost your minds ! the jazz are at 50% now, when d-will is 100% and the booze. . . lights out !!
