Bear Lake Realty says congratulations to Allie Eastman from Rich And Heather Hannemann from Lone Peak. Heather is Stephanie Floyds (Rich High) first Cousin. Stephanie was MVP 1A a few years ago. Allie has Stephanies personna. Quiet until the game starts and then watch out! It is always nice to see a setter who creates the game get acknowledged. Way to go Heather!

not anything bad about any of these ladies ...good job.. but how does Piute have 2 firt teamer and a 2nd teamer but couldnt beat Monticello who had only one 2nd teamer....3rd at state and only one...it would seem they were better than Piute that ussually means better players.

Look at the stats , and quit complaining! This blog should be for building people up. There are many girls that work hard, and deserve congratulations, not "unbelievable" comments. She did deserve it!! Breathe!!

The best 2A volleyball player, in my opinion, is Grand's Shelby Dalton. Just a sophomore. Probably not a secret to local colleges, though.

the best 2A volleyball player was hurt and watching from the bench all year, except for a couple plays at state....good thing for the rest of us too or San Juan would have won it agian.

Amen to stats - Wins and Losses are the stats that count. Richfield had the best athletes and oh by the way beat S.Sevier 80% of the time in 2008......

And no one in S.Sevier deserved it...

MVP | 11:20 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
You cry babies out there need to revisit what MVP stands for. Its not about how may games you have won, or who took state. Its the MVP. Karl Malone got twice without a ring. What a bunch of whiners or wildcats.

MVP right on | 11:39 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Ditto to MVP... 2A Wildcat Whiners should look at the individual stats! if they dare! And yes, Heather Meyer perhaps would have received it IF she HAD been playing this season, AND had gotten her team to the championship game, but she wasn't playing. I still feel badly for her and her team. I hate to see any athlete hurt. But, it's hard to give an MVP to someone who didn't play this season don't ya think? South Sevier didn't cry when a Richfield girl got the MVP in the Trib, oh but I've heard there was some whining going on about "who" from Richfield should have gotten it. I guess they just like to whine?

If you truly are from San Juan, add your name. Then I will know who I should embarrassed by.

Aubrey, Congratulations! The aforementioned comment is totally ludicrous.

I saw the injury happen. Nothing fake there. Besides, why would Aubrey fake an injury when her team was ahead? Faking is usually used to save face in a loss.

I think we should all just be thankful that our 2A girls get any recognition from any of the papers. Our small towns are not their main income base. They really could just ignore us. Congratulations to all of the girls listed in the articles.

Congrats Brooke and Lindsay and the rest of the wildcats for being on the state championship team!!!!! The fact we don't have an "all-star" is what makes us so good. Our teamwork will get us the championship in basketball too. Good job Aubrey on MVP you really are an amazing athlete with a lot of heart.

"Wildcat Whiners" ????? | 12:58 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Go read the comment board after the Wildcats won the state championship.

I think MUCH of Sevier County is whiners, excuse makers, and WAY TOO INTO sports.

Wake up people, once these girls graduate, I hope you have spent as much time teaching them how to read and write and make it in life. The coping skills of the adult "parents" on these boards scare me to think how their kids will react when THEIR daughter doesn't win a State Champinship, the MVP, or even make it as All-State!

How does Region III MVP drop all the way down to Honorable Mention? No discredit to any of the other girls but I'm really not sure how you go about picking these awards.

AUbrey!! Congratulations babe! You are amazing! Ignore all the rude comments, it's just jealousy! Take them in stride and let it all roll off your back. It's ridiculous that people can be so rude. I, and all your teammates, family and friends are so happy for you! YOU deserved it! Nice stats by the way :) I LOVE YOU! Basketball time!!
