Want a Wii? | 8:19 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
There are dozens of Wii's for sale directly from other consumers on sites like Half (dot) com and ebay. I bought a Wii on half (dot) com and then turned around and sold it on the same website (at virtually the same price) a few months later... I ended up buying a PS3 with the proceeds on ebay! Bottom line, skip the middle man and buy from your neighbor.

Sadly, the Half Life 1 for $0.98 deal ended a week or two ago. It's back to $9.99 now.

I picked up a Wii for my sister a few weeks ago at the Smith's Marketplace on 400 South. She couldn't find any up in Logan. Smith's seems to be getting them on a fairly regular basis, but it might be harder now that we're on the other side of Thanksgiving and more people are doing Christmas shopping.

Not a bad article, but missing some obvious games. Pretty good descriptions of the games too. You should guide parents to the website whattheyplay.com, which offers parents a good resource to educate themselves on the games their kids are asking for.

There is a reason all your neighbors are selling their Wiis. A Wii is fun to play for a couple hours, then gathers dust, so save $50 and get a 360, or spend some extra cash and get a PS3 with the benifit of a blu-ray player. Both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 have a good selection of games available for all audiences.

A PS3 is not for gaming. It is basically a cheap blu-ray player. It is the only reason it has survived. And the reason that Playstation 2 games are still selling so well (I have two PS2s myself).

As for a Wii collecting dust...sure, if you are too much of a couch potato to move more than your thumbs when you are playing games. Otherwise, they can certainly go the distance.

Santa is bringing the WII to our house this year. I choose this game system because it seemed as if I had a lot more options for family friendly games. When I looked in the stores it seemed the other systems had a lot of violent games. We have enough violence. We need more good clean bloodless fun. I look forward to getting some of the games listed in this article and I appreciate CMcAfee given that website! It was something I have been thinking about and hadn't taken the time to find.

Well, we've had a WII since they came out, and it's still the console of choice at our house. Everything else is gathering dust.

WII seems to be the real winner overall. Xbox seems to have the best selection of games and online capability, however system wise the 360 is a ticking timbomb. If you own one you've probably sent it in for repairs at least once, bought a replacement or had to replace games its eaten. The PS3 so far has been rock solid, its behind not only due to price but the game selection is a little more specific.

Most people I know who own a WII for more than 6 months have stopped playing it. But I see that as a plus, a good video game system is cheap, fun and easily picked up and played for a bit, then put back down. You dont want video games to claim hours of your day, believe me.

Gears of war 2! What better way to spread holiday cheer than to chainsaw opponents to bits.

WoW is Goofy | 12:24 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
World of warcraft is truly as nerdy as it gets. If you are trying to level up a cimmerian elf herder and capture the crown jewels of Tiberius and you are over 12 years old please put the game down.

You don't want WoW, unless you don't want a life. You've heard what people say about it and how WoW Fanboys defend it, but everything the opposition says is true, WoW really takes away too much time out of your life. Get Gears 2 or Halo 3 and enjoy some multiplayer fun, not a destructive force that takes your time and destroys your relationships....

Certainly not a real WoW player are we? But my choice for the kids is Wii as it is much more aligned to their age. Teen-agers are WoW junkies if they keep grades and others aspects of life in balance.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for PS3 is like an interactive Indiana Jones adventure.

Tons of fun. Does have some language, though, in case you have younger kids you don't want repeating what they hear.
