Crisis? What crisis? | 10:38 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008
Everyone talks about a financial crisis. I, personally, have never had it so
good. My lifestyle has not changed one bit. In fact, I am making more money
than i have ever made. I am saving more money than i have ever saved. My job
seems busier than it ever has. And most of all, I am basking in the good
feeling of filling up my car for under 20 dollars.

I've worked at the same company for nearly 10 years. I had never had it so
good, until now. I have no credit card debt. I paid off my house and purchased a
rental house. I am a consumer, but I use cash. In other words, I should be
living well. And I could if the economy were healthy. The problem is that
although I have not participated in creating the current economic mess by over
extending my debt or taking out subprime loans, I (and you, too) will be paying
the taxes to bail out those who did for a long time to come. And because of the
recession, my company's output is slowing, and I fear layoffs in the
future. I'm glad you're living the high life, but face it, we all will
suffer for the follies of others.
