I thought that | 8:41 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008
this BCS computer generated system was supposed to remove any controversy from the standings. I guess the computers programmers were able to install some sort of favortism in the software. The BSC is a failure and they need to devise an 8 team playoff that goes through part of December and finishes with a big game on New Years Day.
how funny would it be... | 10:21 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008
if Missouri beats Oklahoma in the big 12 championship game. Then Texas would go to the national championship (most likely) but would have finished "3rd" in their conference...
(Cougars fans, looks like there is hope, start making your crazy predictions again PLEASE)
If things go according to plan though... Its Utah and Texas in the Fiesta bowl baby!
That ought to be a good game

BCS = Flawed System

This is one of the best cases for a playoff system. OU jumping UT is highway robbery.

BTW, 'how funny,' I hope you get your wish and play Texas. They will wipe the turf with your little yewties. Hawaii part deux. Let's try to keep it respectable this year. Don't give the BCS and their foolish computers another reason to keep the MWC and other 'mid-majors' out of the big-money games.

The system is definitely flawed having OU ahead of a Texas team that beat them, however if Texas got in, the Texas Tech would have the same argument since they beat Texas... The same Texas Tech team that lost by 40 2 weeks ago... The ONLY way to solve this is with a playoff, end of story!

Most agree that it past time for a playoff system. Look at the lower division in college and how they seem to pull it off every year and nobody is gripping about who is the championship game. Thing is we need more then 8 teams. 16 would be good may be even 32 if they agreed to be done playing by the 3rd saturday of Nov. or the Saturday closest to the 21st.
Understand that I am just throwing out suggestions but compared to the BCS any playoff would be good. And do we really need all the bowl games?
Wow ! | 12:45 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
What a messed up system! Texas has beat Missouri and Oklahoma this season and gets to sit back and watch those teams play in the Big 12 Championship game.

Deal with it! Oklahoma has a strong team...it was
only a fluke that Texas beat them.

OU has always been better than Texas...and stop the
nuetral field crap..it was still in Texas.
Neutral Field | 4:01 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
Dallas is a true neutral site for Oklahoma/Texas, halfway between Norman and Austin; the crowd is always evenly split.

It may defy logic, but head-to-head doesn't always prove which team is better; it only proves which team was better on a particular day.
Re: Neutral | 4:23 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
The crowd is "always" split down the middle. Each school has tickets to 1/2 of the stadium. The seating is rotated each year for the home team and the tunnel that they run on the field from. Oh I almost forgot, Texas is the better team this year.
Boycott BCS | 4:35 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
I will not go to or watch any BCS game. Do not support the BCS and their corrupt, idiotic system.

BCS knows one thing?

A Ute Football matchup equals less than 5000 fans! Yewts can't even fill there own home games?
OU | 6:00 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
...UT - either was a great choice, both powerful teams. Strange turns this year in the Big 12.

ut is having one of there best season ever and i feel can knock off any team you put them againist expect for the gators but any other team and ute has it in the bag and yes longhorns got robberd this yr and should be playing in that game i also believe they need a playoff system it would make it so much easyier
