The Clinton's are very ambitious and will stop at nothing to further their careers. Let's see just how long it will take for the tail to wag the dog.
Bush is saying that he regrets the bad intelligence which spurned the decision to war. Authorization was based upon bad intelligence. Are you disputing that?
I am an Independent LDS voter.
Sorry, couldn't control myself... I am just so excited for 'Bama...
Has anyone read Hillary Clinton's statement accompanying her vote in Oct. 2002? She was clearly against what Bush did.
"Obama pulled off the classic bait and switch. He baited voters with a promise of change and give us a corrupt, unqualified Washington insider!"
How many times must you people be told Obama did not mean that his administration would be made up of all fresh faces whose lack of experience would undermine our national security and economy but that policies, goals and priorities of his administration would be a change.
Who do you propose as the Secretary of State? The Wal-Mart employee who makes $7.00 an hour and has no experience other than how to stock shelves and operate a cash register? The ignorance of your comments are clearly demonstrated since for your kind of change to exist would mean that Obama would have to randomly pick people from a phone book and say "I have never met this person, know nothing about them yet I think I will flip a coin to decide if they will be my new Secretary of State."
The heads of Departments must be experienced, but they do not set policy. That is Obama and he is the agent of change that directs their experience to advance that change.
President elect Obama has assembled a rather impressive group of experienced professionals, Republican and Democrat, to advise him in his pursuit of effective solutions and policies necessary to save us from the imcompetence/ corruption of a failed Presidency. The answer is somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum - let's go there, as we abandon political extremism! Country first!!!

Even the best intelligence can sometimes be bad. And Congresspeople who uttered "aye" when the vote was taken (which included Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, John Kerry, John Edwards, and other Democrats) had just as much access to the intelligence (and staff to ferret the truth out) as Bush.

I think he is saying he regrets not digging deeper for the truth of the matter before committing troops. He is probably also sorry he didn't understand what a conflict in the middle east with Muslims would entail. He shoulda knowed because many a battle has been raging there for centuries.
Ethics begin at home. They must be modeled.
Socialist liberal's have no Ethics.
This Senate election will tell the world what this nation thinks of Obama's transition.
This Running Ute just got a case of Bulldog fever!
Run, Saxby, Run!
Thank you, Govenor Sarah Palin. We are winning!
Senator Obama campaigned on what sounded like a diplomacy platform. President elect Obama is saying he plans to make our military strongest on the planet, rebuild alliances, regain American leadership in all dimensions, with UN strong action including military force if needed to stop mass killings like those in Darfur.
While the UN is on the verge of collapse, he plans to give power to the UN (Book of Daniel). If our ways please God, we need no alliances. God destroyed nations that alligned with other nations for security. We wanted change from US posturing and interfering around the world. He campaigned against Senator McCains concepts for war and he is doing the same thing. He plans to send greater numbers of our youth to Afghanistan, get involved with stronger connection with NATO and UN peacekeeping forces. These are not the changes that will give peace. God promises peace to those who use His word for wisdom in how to fight the war, not in threatening sanctions as we are doing against Iran. THIS IS NOT CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN.

Ya, she passed the buck back to Bush with her statement. She basically abdicated her responsibility as a senator to declare or not declare war with no strings or conditions. Typical liberal trick. Pass the buck.
"She was clearly against what Bush did."
She voted "aye." There is no provision to add comment or condition to an "aye" vote on authorizing war.
"I think he is saying he regrets not digging deeper for the truth of the matter before committing troops. He is probably also sorry he didn't understand what a conflict in the middle east with Muslims would entail. He shoulda knowed because many a battle has been raging there for centuries."
Maybe he should of listened to Powell when he told him "You break it, you own it." When Powell jumped ship, I smelled a rat.
Keeping Gates is a mistake and Clinton will not be a good Sec of State. The AZ govenor is the biggest mistake. She hasn't done anything to enforce the borders unless the AZ legislature forced her into a corner.
"My vote is not, however, a vote for any new doctrine of pre-emption, or for uni-lateralism, or for the arrogance of American power or purpose -- all of which carry grave dangers for our nation, for the rule of international law and for the peace and security of people throughout the world.
So it is with conviction that I support this resolution as being in the best interests of our nation. A vote for it is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President and we say to him - use these powers wisely and as a last resort. And it is a vote that says clearly to Saddam Hussein - this is your last chance - disarm or be disarmed."
I agree. All this socialist hysteria is just hysteria. The American system has the ability to flush out any extremism with all the checks and balances. Obama will move to the center and not to the left which ironically will disappoint many Sean Hannophiles who are ready to say: "I told you so."
Obama will move closer to the center because he knows that if he doesn't, the Dems will lose in 2010 not to mention him losing in 2012.
He may not move as far center as you may want but from his current position even based upon past votes, he will likely move more to the center than to the left. Of course, this is based on an opinion based upon what presidents tend to do.
But let's talk specifics. You say that he is "anti second amemdment, pro abortion, anti family, he never met a tax he doesn't love." What do you think he is going to do? Ban guns entirely? Encourage people to have late term abortions? Tax us more? Tell me what you think he will do. I am interested to know then explain how he can do it without antagonizing the Independents who will revolt by swinging Republican in 2010 and then he won't be able to do anything at all like Clinton in 1994.
The second clause of Article 1, Section 6, of the Constitution reads, "No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office."
So, BO and crew are demonstrating once again that they feel our founding documents are to be ignored at any and all costs.
It truly is a sad day in the USSA.
