LDS Church News: Draper Temple open house plans

Draper, Utah. Isn't that where the city council refused to allow a Deseret Industries store in their fair city? Maybe some temple work is needed there.

We want the prepared and faithful in Draper and that is why there is Temple. The unprepared ans needy are not whay our community is about. This is why a Deseret Industries was not allowed. There are plenty of other areas suitable for a DI. This is not one of them.

I can not believe the comment made," The unprepared and needy are not what our community is about" (at least that is what I think you meant, as some words were unreadable). Who do you think you are? I certainly hope you realize that you are not a very good example to others, if you profess to believe the doctrines that will allow you in the Temple. We are all children of our Heavenly Father and he makes no comparisons between us. He went to the poor and needy, sought them out so he could help them, what we all should be doing. Shame on you!

Its just too bad that people want to continue to repesent the church in negetive ways. Here is one more coment mae by a person who thinks, by using the churches name,that they are better than those do need help.

Sounds so very prideful! Watch out, you may be the next "unprepared and needy". Life can be so unpredictable.

I can only think this is some sick joke, no christian of any denomination, no practitioner of any world creed, nor even a true atheist would make such a comment.

Alma Chapters 31 and 32 come to mind! The poor and needy are everywhere, Deseret Industries is great, we should be ever mindful of others and not simply wish to cast them out to another 'out of sight' neighbourhood! Shocked by the comment above "The unprepared ans needy are not whay our community is about." I hope this is a minority perspective, otherwise I certainly wouldn't want to live in Draper. I live in the UK, just outside London, but am coming to Utah for Christmas, remind me to miss Draper!

Utah's 12th House of the Lord. What joy and gladness will be had as worthly saints enter there to make covenants with God for themselves and perform ordinances for and behalf of their ancestors. We live in a blessed age and time when temples do indeed dot the earth, Utah, California, where we live, Mexico, South America, the USofA in general, Canada, Europe (Rome was announced by President Monson in October's General Conference.) When I was attending seminary there were 15 temples, now 40 years there will soon be 129! I am truly thrilled to see this day. Praise God from whom all blessings flow . . .
All who enter the House of the Lord are needy . . . in need of instruction and peace that is offered, and can be found for everyone. All are equal in His House. Poor and afluent alike. Some are afluent in spirit, but poor to the things of this world. Others are afluent in the world's wealth, but poor in spirit. Let's rais the bar and rejoice at this another symbol of our unity.
