I LIKE BOOZER AS A PERSON BUT COME ON! LET THINK STRAIGHT..
MILSAP IS FURTHER ALONG THAN BOOZER WAS AT 23 AND WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW BOOZER DIVE FOR A BALL OR EVEN BLOCK A SHOT??
THE CHOICE IS OBVIOUS.... LET BOOZER OPT OUT/TRADE

KEEP MILSAP!

Millsap is a joy to watch--great attitude and work ethic. He is a poor man's Tim Duncan--just getting the job done night after night. It probably would mean more losses, but if they Jazz have to choose between Boozer and Millsap, I think I would rather see the Jazz lose more games with better effort and defense next year. Re-signing Okur and Millsap are first priority items above Boozer, Korver, Price, Almond, etc.

While Boozer is a class act by himself; it is plain to see that Millsap is up there too. I have liked him from the beginning and he brought his family with him and his brothers play about as well as Paul does. Look at his younger brother Abraham's high school career here locally. As was stated many times during his rookie season: HOW DID THIS GUY SLIP TO THE SECOND ROUND? When the off season comes while disappointing for Boozer to get away if that is in the cards lets keep Millsap and the Jazz will be just fine and I believe Paul will also keep Williams happy. One thing to consider and maybe Boozer's liability is how often he has been injured while he has played in Utah.

I think the biggest priority in the off season for the Jazz should be to keep Milsap first and a close second is to resign Memo. If we can keep Carlos after that, then gravy. However, I'd feel more comfortable picking up an enforcer type big man who's willing to throw an elbow or two before breaking the bank to sign Boozer at the risk of losing Paul or Memo.

Right now we don't have anybody who will instill fear in the opponents when they cheap shot D-Will. At least with Hofa he was more than willing to close line the ATL's William while their bench had second thoughts about rushing the Brazilian. Why can't we get a cheap shot blocker like Mouhamed Sene off the Thunders bench. He'd flourish in the Jazz system for less than 4 million at 7'0" with a 7'8" wingspan.

Or how 'bout bucking the system with a sign and trade of Boozer for Bogut and draft picks? Bogut at the 5 with Memo at the 4 ? Now that's a lineup to get giddy about!

Millsap is a model of consistency. I hope we have enough financial pie to retain his services. Good things keep happening to us when he's on the floor.

I don't know how you replace Boozer, but I just can't see letting a bluecollar workhorse like Paul "Ironman" Milsap get away. I think I would let Boozer walk if he isn't committed to being here. I mean, Boozer can do what he wants of course. I just wouldn't sell the farm to keep him here. He just doesn't show enough commitment to playing defense.

Not only is he a great player, he's a great guy. My daughter played for the Jr. Jazz as a 7 year old. She had Millsap's number. She was also a huge fan and watched all the games with me. She wrote Millsap a letter and sent him her school picture. He wrote back personally, sent an autographed picture and an autographed rookie card. Class act.
Hope Larry can keep him around for a long time!

Keep Millsap at all costs. No one has made this comparison yet, but I think Millsap is not the next Mailman, but the next Barkley. Charles was undersized also, but was an intelligent player who out hustled his opponent every night.

I hope the Jazz keep Memo, and Millsap. They can only keep two of the three. I like Boozer, I just think we can not keep all three and Boozer will demand a max contract.

There are a few NBA players that earn the money they get. Millsap is one of them. I's just afraid that Millsap's aggressiveness will get him a big time injury some day. But it's sure fun to watch.

everytime Millsap blocks a shot! He is a monster on defense, a consistent rebounder, and continually improving his offense. He deserves to be a multi-millionaire in a Jazz uniform.

Boozer is excellent too. I think we just get frustrated sometimes with him because we have seen what he can do (put up 30 and 15), but he rarely does it. It's like his heart isn't in it but it can be. I like Booz, and we should keep him, but keeping Millsap is priority over keeping the Booz.

I too love Sap, and have since day one and would hate to lose him. However, I want to see what Sap does against the bigger front lines before I send Boozer away for Milsap. Memphis's front line is not a good baromiter to judge him by. He also needs to learn to sta on the court and out of foul trouble.

Let's see what Milsap can do against Houston, or LA on a consistant basis. I know he had the one very good game against LA last year, probably the best game of the year. But that was before Odam and Pau were ingrained there.

are the only thing he needs to work on. Silly ones from time to time keep him from playing 25-30 minutes consistently without being in foul trouble. That aside, I love Millsap's hustle, eye for the ball, and overall defense. If Boozer bolts, the Jazz will throw $7-8 mil per year at Millsap and come out just fine.

I think if booz opts out we wont be loosing to much. Yes boozer is a little bit of a better scorer but millsap makes up for that with his defense. Boozer looks lost and confused on the defensive end. No heart at all. Im not to worried if boozer opts out.

Most everyone on here loves Sloan. If Milsap were a better player than Boozer, wouldn't Sloan be giving him more minutes? Sloan loves defense. If Milsap played better defense and did all the other things that Sloan loves, why isn't he playing him more? There must be something that you all are not seeing in this equation. Personally I don't like Sloan. And why would you throw 7-8 million at Milsap? He is not worth that much.

Funny how everyone is bashing Millsap for his silly fouls, when Boozer does the same every game. That's one of the things that bothers me about Boozer is how he'll get silly fouls--usually 2+1 for the other team. If you're going to foul a shooter, do it so that they don't make the basket!

It's amazing how so many players do that at this level. You'd think they'd know better. Refs are quick to whistle you if you even LOOK like you're committing a foul. Might as well get your money's worth or just be a tree stump.

I'd keep Millsap over Boozer simply because his defense ADDS to his other stats, where as Boozers SUBTRACTS from them.

First, Memo and Booz have to opt out of their contracts. Second, we need to see how Milsap plays on the road and against better teams/players. Right now he is starting, meaning he will be going against starting power forwards which will help the Jazz assess his level of play. Third, if you lose either one of them, you will still need a good back up power forward.

One of the things I have noticed about Paul over Booz is he is able to score in heary traffic a little better or get fouled. He is also a better one on one defender as well as being better at challenging shots at the rim. However, this may also be the reason he is foul prone. (Booz is smart enough not to get taken out of the game by fouls.)

I say if you can trade Booz for another all-star and a long term contract and still keep Milsap, that may be the best senerio. Either way Booz or Milsap, they are both small power forwards and the Jazz need more size.

Last year Millsap scored 27 point in Orlando against Dwight Howard. We have seen how Millsap performs on the road, he is a very consistent player. His problems are fouls and turnovers, but they are overshadowed by his offensive rebounds, defense and skills around the basket.

Boozer is an incredible player, but I say keep Millsap. You'll get him for less and he brings better defense (but he doesn't have the midrange game or the post presence, but Millsap is definitely getting better in the post every year. The man can FLOAT. He does more in the air than PF I've ever seen)

Also the comment about people showing off their clothes on the bench.. HILARIOUS!

I agree with the folks who say millsap is the first priority this summer. THe post master is definitely top priority, with the looming financial crunch. THat's just because he's true jazz, through and through, and after he's locked up, which will be less than some of the other guys, you know what you have left, not because he's a more important player, just that it's more important to sign him. HOwever, i disagree with folks who think memo needs to be signed next, and i think it's pretty obvious, you got to try and keep booz-the jazz have two young centers sitting on the bench who aren't getting any playing time. If memo provides winning basketball for another team, it causes less disruption to the jazz lineup than if boozer goes, even if booz goes in a slump, at least he's in the post trying to make something happen. If you have no booz, you have what happened against chicago, a bunch of outside shooting, oh, the jazz needed either booz or dwill that night. SOmeone to try and get some points in the paint.

Brewer is going to be a free agent too. If I'm making decisions, brewer and post master are the two guys that have to be signed, they are both due hefty raises. And if korver opts out, i think the jazz need to sign mo. If memo leaves, they need to resign fes, and get him some minutes, the guy is pretty athletic for his size, and he's a banger. If booz left, that would be the biggest loss, but i don't see the jazz messing up with that, it's my feeling he'll be back, and he's probably the top priority, though, i think that's debateable. However, booz would be the biggest loss, doesn't make him top priority in signing, because the jazz have flexibility to make another move down the road.
