Actors in general, and some in particular, have no sense. Money or ego drives them anyway, so quality passes by. Decency goes out the window when money comes in the front door. And, yes, Vince Vaughn is a one-trick pony. Will this schtick still work for him when he's a grown man? Is it working now? He's crying all the way to the bank with such garbage, while hard working people are just crying. At least the support troops (camera, sound, editing, wardrobe folks) get an income. Hmm. If SAG strikes, even these people will be out of work. And, really. Did Rteese really deserve an Oscar?

I preemptively hated this film, just from watching the previews. Every year there are these horrible, over hyped "Christmas" films that lack any kind of integrity. Is it so hard to figure out that a good movie is about characters and plot, not gags and pop culture references?

Dezhda Gaubert of E online wrote:

"The movie tries to be a feel-good holiday movie, but it's too vulgar to take the whole family to and too silly to charm sophisticates.

Roger Ebert wrote:

"We got five Oscar-winning actors, and they don't need to act much."

Kirk Honeycutt of the Hollywood Reporter wrote:

"A top-drawer cast in a bottom-drawer screenplay."

In fact, the ONLY positive review I could find was from the New York Times, which is interesting on many levels.

It's too bad; I do cheer for this cast to have something good for us, but it doesn't look like this film is it.

A Christmas story with non-stop put downs... just what the world needs. Save your money. I wish I had.
