Something else everyone is forgetting about the Haka: The only reason it was disrespectful is because the seniors were being honored when they started it. Great class BYU, that's the whole reason the Utes got so upset by it.

When are you guys going to get Real? We have been hearing all year how BYU was so superior and how Utah was going to get punked. You guys are all talk. You just don't learn, do you ? You live in the 70's and 80's when you had a great run under Lavell (who I respect greatly. I even like Bronco) As long as you live that far back why don't you go back to the turn of the century through the 1960's when everyone scheduled BYU as the patsy. Even with the 70's and 80's Utah leads the series 50 something to 30 something. Utah is not your little orphan adopted brother. You are still the little brother to Utah and Utah State.
Utah could actuallty be better next year with what the have recruited and with what they have coming back. You will still have Max Hall at quarterback. Max said that the Utah defense confused him. Is Max smart enough to figure that out by next year?

If you are God's football team, like you think you are, then the message this year from God must be "be thou humble"
RE: BYU Haka@1:14 | 10:06 p.m. Nov. 24, 2008
Very convincing argument! Silly me--and I always thought the Haka was POLYNESIAN--not Maori--and that the Maori had their own war dance. Obviously BYU's own Polynesian players, who started the custom to begin with, don't understand the haka's significance to their own culture.

Also, when New Zealand's white rugby players do their own haka, it's fine. But when BYU's white/black/Polynesian football players do it, it isn't. Impeccable logic! I see perfectly now.

SOMEONE must tell BYU's woefully uninformed Polynesian players that their native custom is disrespectful and only reserved for rugby! The choice is a no-brainer. Could you, BYU Haka, PLEASE come out of the stands at the bowl game, stand in front of the entire team, and tell them in person how culturally disrespectful they all are?

You'd do us all a favor if you did!
RE: A few facts | 8:10 a.m. Nov. 25, 2008
and don't forget, Utah is 9-0 against unranked teams with a combined record of 34-61.

You barely beat NM (4-8) by three points, 13-10.
You barely beat Michigan (3-9) by two points, 25-23.
And you let Weber college score 21 points.

Re:Re: disrespect | 6:24 p.m. Nov. 29, 2008
BYU can do the haka whenever they want whats the problem? it's a way to intimidate the opposing team and pump up their own team. Also why does it matter whos turf your on it's going to have the same effect where ever the go.

Why do spectators, which most have NEVER played college ball have to trash another team. You think you can do better? then get an education at a college and see if you can actually play for the team. Both teams had an amazing season. Congratulations for some spectacular football this year and past years.
The Utes deserve a shot at a BCS championship as an undefeated team. Time for playoffs. Mr. Obama is correct.
Everyone else, keep watching the games on t.v. and dream of being good enough to play yourself.
