Kudos to Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, Unified Fire and the Utah Highway Patrol. It was an enormous emergency situation and both agencies served its citizens well. Captain Russell from the UFD was an exceptional PIO spokesperson and has a background in Hasmat. An outstanding performance by the Sheriff's Office, too, who sent ambulances to help evacuate elderly residences. This extra precaution, I'm sure, provided assurance to the elderly that they would be safe. The Highway Patrol did an excellent job in shutting down the freeway and keeping the public updated on events.

It is especially nice to know that during an emergency situation both all agencies can get put their differences aside and get the job done.
