The leadership often do go overboard pushing marriage and making these often still immature young people repel from the council. Still I had a blast in the Singles wards I went to and so are my kids. Lighten up enjoy your time there, do date and watch out for those girls who slide a finger down your back checking for garments and those guys who propose to every girl who gives them the time of day. Oh and then there was the girl who wrote to 20 or more of us on our missions and asked all of us to come home and marry her. As I recall that worked for her. Singles wards can be so great, crazy, fun, and if you have a good sense of humor there is more than enough characters to fill any journal. You're keeping one right?
