BYU, Utah football: Utes quick to admit this game is a biggie

The Utes do have so much to lose. Great article about the strenghts of the team and insight into the players. I am sure Bryce McCain is going to be ready to play. He certainly will be working hard to keep Austin Collie in check. I hope they let Brian Johnson run some. It would be sad if he got hurt when on the run cause they will need him in the Bowl game, but that is a real tool the Utes have to work with.

This will be the game to be talked about for the next year. Cougars by 3, 24 - 21.

This is the biggest regular season game of the year for both teams and everyone knows it. The coaches just don't want to say it because they're already fighting an uphill battle to keep a bunch of 18-23 year olds from letting their emotions get the best of them.

Three years ago a slightly better BYU team lost at home to Utah because the BYU players were psyched out of their minds to finally be favored against the U after three losing seasons. The last couple of years the teams have been evenly matched. This year, with Utah favored, we'll see how they handle the pressure. I'll be in the stands taking the abuse from the RES fan base.

At least we're a Boise State loss away from a BCS play-in game so, for MWC fans, this is a win-win game. Although, the refs will take care of Utah this year (like they did for BYU last year) because they know where their bread gets buttered and they'll take guaranteed BCS money. BYU must keep it from coming down to being decided by the zebras to win. Otherwise the cougars will be the ones whinning about the officials all year.

O McCain you better be worried because austin collie is going to have a field day on you. we will see if the utes can stop byu's big three. GO COUGARS!!

McCain scares me. He gives up so many big plays. I keep hearing how he is so incredibly fast but he's given up a lot of big plays this year (not to mention 4th and 18 last year). He is the weak spot in our D.

I agree that the Utes have much to lose and win with this game, but only a desparate Cougar fan would be blind to the fact that BYU does also. 1)How embarssasing to the Cougs if their big brother goes undefeated again, and accomplishes the single goal that the Cougs had for 2008, BCS. 2)Conference title on the line, at least a share for the Cougs. 3)Could be an outside shot at the BCS for the Cougs should Boise lose. 4)Have to go back to this point. From January 2008 the only focus and goal that Cougar-nation had was going to the BCS. They put every egg they had in the BCS basket by opening their mouths and starting their own hype machine. It would be bad enough for them not to make it, but for Utah to go AGAIN would be devistating.

Sounds to me like both squads have huge stakes on the line, so lets not buy the Coug spin that they have nothing to lose and are care-free. Which team has closed practices this week, just asking!

I'd worry sbout Maxie boy getting and astrology class on the field since we'll put him to look at the starts so often. TCU's OL coun't stop us neither will you!!! where was austin in forth worth???

Should I say: as a "coug fan" I am really worried about pitta being hurt, or Max's mistakes under pressure. And our D better show up because we are not going to be able to keep up with them as we did against CSU. RIDICULOUS ridiculous

Hall is in for the most depressing game of his life. He will be sacked at least 4 times. Hurried 7-8. Hit 16. And throw a minimum of 3 picks. Utes will win this one BIG!! COUNT ON IT.

Even if Johnson runs (and he will),no worries. BYU can't hurt him, with their weeanie pull down pillow tackles.

The girl in the picture (advertisement above)represents BYU fan faces as the 11/22 game progresses. Get a good look, because it won't be pretty. In fact, by games end it will be quite ugly.

The Aggies are off, the Utes have a scrimage with BY Academy on Saturday at 4:00 PM. Public is welcome to attend.

uh...collie had over a hundred yards receiving against TCU's lockdown corners, bro. I don't know if the cougs will win but rest assured, as a ute fan, collie will own your U's secondary. No one has been able to stop him all year and that is why he is leading the nation in receiving yards. Give credit where credit is due. May the best team...destroy the other. hahaha

We'll see how pillowy soft Johnson feels after saying hi to Coleby Clawson.

Collie is a good player and I am sure he will have 2 touchdowns and 160 yards and Unga may have one, BUT Brown will have two, Casteel will have one, Reed for one, Asiata for two and then there is our King!! So will be stop Collie, maybe not, will we out score him.....COUNT ON IT!!!!!

If there is one player for the Y who can carry the rest of his team on his back, it's Austin Powers er Collie. He is the Eric Weddle of their team. Utah will at best do damage control and keep him from winning the game for them. If Utah does contain Collie, it will be huge! He is the best in the country and Eric Weddle will be trying to stop him when he (Collie) starts playing on Sunday.

I'm a diehard Ute, but I'm really worried about this one. You know BYU's only motiviation here is to spoil our season. There is no higher goal. I think they will be ready and will play with more emotion.

You have every reason to worry, as does the school up north...

This game is going to be awesome, no doubt about it. This really is a match-up of two awesome teams and it is going to be close. The last few years have been close games (bar Utah's blowout of BYU when they went on to crack down the BCS barrier).

The last few years games have been determined by offensive plays at the end, but I'm picking this years game winner to be a defensive stop rather that a big TD to win it.

Hopefully the winner gets a BCS bid.

Do like AFA and hold or tackle recievers on every play....if you have home town refs, it may work....

So Sorenson, how many TD throws would BJ have had to make to get the U record?
