I was blessed to hear Pres. Packer speak in person when he visited our Stake. I now understand what it means to be in the presencs of a truly spiritual person. He radiated with the spirit and it manifested itself in his every word and gesture.
Pres. Packer is truly a man of God.

I think this statement from Pres. Packer's talk is interesting: "We are not required to tolerate anything that leads to unhappiness ... Tolerance is often demanded but is seldom returned."

I say interesting because of the recent Prop 8 battle. Was the church asking for Tolerance or "seldom returning it." Did tolerance of gay marriage lead to unhappiness and if it did, who will experience the unhappiness.

In otherwords it's a nice statement about tolerance. It states very well the churches views about the persecution it's experienced in the past but does it represent the views it's pushing today without a lot of extra explanation of its actions.

Just something to think about.

Sounds like President Packer gave some good advice.

Tolerance is many times an excuse for just plain old SIN.

Many in today's world want to change SIN to just an alternate choice.

Where the basic respect for the Creator God and
his Son, Jesus who started the whole thing??

I would have to think about your comment a lot because just going over it once - it made no sence at all! Why don't you come out and say what you mean? I think the church has shown great tolerance in this "Gay" episode ! But I think that the nation can give testimony that they have not done the same!!

The United States of America was settled by the Pilgrims (after the Native Indians of course)that they may worship freely. If you don't understand, you can find your answer in the Holy Bible. This nation was founded and built upon CHRISTIANITY. Our currency states "IN GOD WE TRUST" our pledge of allegiance states we are "UNDER GOD". Targeting the church for what we believe in makes me appreciate it more. I love and continue to pray for the gay community. Yall' need to quit saying the church HATES gays!!! And maybe you should stick to another site. THE PEOPLE VOTED and Prop.8 was passed. THE PEOPLE!!! NOT THE CHURCH, THE PEOPLE!!! Have a blessed day, Jesus Loves You!!!
