Mexico City temple rededicated

It points to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and how it has blessed the people who probably live in or near Book of Mormon lands. The "little stone" saw in the dream of Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2)is truly the latter church rolling forth to bless all mankind and to fill the world with it's love. Thanks President Monson for representing the Lord and his Latter Day Kingdom so well as His Prophet, Seer, and Revelator.

What a great blessing it was to watch this wonderful event all the way here in Texas! Congratulations to our brothers and sisters in Mexico City. Hopefully, many more Temples will be built soon for those members who live in countries were there are none.

We were in Mexico City last March right before Easter. What a beautiful and interesting city! The Temple was closed for renovation. Our guide, a local young man who converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was in high school, spoke with happiness about how the Church has changed his life for the better and influenced his extended family for good. My husband and I will forever remember the feelings we had in Mexico and Guatemala while visiting Mayan ruins there--overpowering feelings of an ancient civilization that rose and fell. It has changed my attitudes about the Hispanic people who live in our country.

I miss being in Latin American, where the faith of the people is so great. People there do not become offended by others' religion, unlike a very vocal minority here in the states.

The dedication was even broadcast to here in Michigan, although I was not there. It is a great day in Mexico, and I too look forward to seeing more temples.
We need to look forward with an eye of faith.

As an American living in Mexico for the past 17 years, it is a great privilege to share these special moments with the Mexican Saints. They deserve so much to have the Prophet of the Lord in their presence and to feel his love and dedication. For my two beautiful daughters to participate in the cultural event was a wonderful experience. To have them return at 1:30 am and to have the desire to write their feelings down in their journals and share them was a special experience that will last forever in our hearts.

The culmination of this special event was the re-dedication of the Mexico City Temple with the sweetest of spirits thanks to all that participated and especially to the Prophet of the Lord. His love for the Mexican Saints is so sincere and it was felt in abundance. Thank you Brother Monson. The Mexican Saints respond to these moments with much love and dedication and I would like to tell them all that it has been a wonderful privilege to serve shoulder to shoulder with them. I love them and to have my son serving them in his mission is the GREATEST blessing. �VIVA MEXICO!

I just got back from my mission in Puebla and it was a great experience serving the mexican people. I'm glad to see that the temple has been reopened; now maybe they'll build one in Puebla. Especially since President Monson said there would be more...

Sure. We have seen so much of that love spread to California. How about learning the meaning of "love" first in your own hearts before you start spreading it out everywhere else?

Thank you. I look in the mirror and thank God that the person staring back at me can lay down his head at night knowing I have done no injury to another of my fellow-men. Those people outside my window may need an understanding ear and a word of kindness. How long has it been since you did that? And please come up with more than another cute quote.

RIGHT NOW MORE THAT NEVER, KNOW THAT THIS IS THE CHURCH OF THE LORD AND THE TEMPLO ARE HIS HOOUSE.

I LOVE HIS WORK ON THE EARTH AND I WANT TO FOLLOW SERVING TO MY SAVIOR AND MY HEAVENLY FATHER.

Who's trying to be cute? This is not a cute situation. I'm glad you are at peace with your conscience. I too am at peace with my conscience. That doesn't necessarily mean that we are going to agree on some very serious issues, nor do we have to in order to be at peace with our respective consciences. However, there are some issues with which I'm sure we are in complete agreement. I'm a lot more tolerant and kind to people who don't share my views than this forum conveys, and I'm sure you are a very kind person too. I have some very caring and affirming relationships with people who have significantly different lifestyles from my own. When necessary, we have learned to agree to disagree and go on from there.

I am so glad you responded. I hope this gets posted. I am truly sorry that I came off so harsh. I think we have all been through some trying times politically and socially. I am trying hard to quit making snap judgements and quick retorts to everything. Obviously I am not quite there yet. I know how much the re-dedication of the Temple means to your Faith. I made a very disrepectful comment about someone who was just stating their joy and belief about the Temple. I was totally out of line to connect to another issue totally unrelated. To quote : "Wit is a pearl in the hand of goodness. It is a stone in the hands of a fool". ( not exactly a qoute...more of a paraphrase ) I was wrong and I hope that you will forgive my moment as a fool. I wish you well. Now if I can just lay my head down with a clear conscience tonight. Peace.

We had planned to attend the celebration and dedication, but were unable to do so. We did get to observe both in the Caldwell,Idaho East stake bldg. It brought back wonderful memories of our mission in the Centro para Vistantes and of the wonderful Mexican missionary hermanas with whom we served. I had the opportunity to serve in the Templo every Thursday. Our hearts are filled with joy and love for our brothers and sisters in Mexico. We miss you all very much and will continue to love your sweet spirits. Mas adelante en el obra del Senor!

The event was wonderful, because the Spirit of the Lord was there, and I participate in the event in one of the tipic dances and I just can say that the Event was Amazing and having President Monson there was so good.

Being born and raised in the USA all my life and being of Mexican heritage, I am ever so thankful for the opportunity of watching the rededication of the Mexico City Temple. I visited this Temple many years ago. I was sealed to my parents in this Temple. My mother, who has left this mortal life, wanted this ordinance done in this holy temple, in Mexico! To listen to the testimonies of my Brothers and Sisters was very uplifting to me --- and in Spanish, the language of my parents! Thanks making this availuable to us via Television.
