I don't think (as some feel) that John and Karl should go in together. It'd be more fitting if John gave Karl "one more assist" by being there first, then being in some way involved in getting Karl there (not that Karl needs help--just a gesture of some sort--like handing him something).
Sloan will never get Coach of the Year, even if the Jazz should somehow win the title while he's here. He does deserve the Hall because of how long he's been with this organization. Same for Phil as his assistant (don't know if there's a spot for them, though). You don't last that long if you can't coach.
We may not always agree with how he coaches, but you can't deny what he's accomplished. He showed the ability to make better players of many over the years. Sure, John and Karl had a lot to do with his winning percentage, but still, there were plenty of times he could have been replaced for not getting that duo over the hump in winning a title.
There aren't that many steady coaches out there. Let's keep Jerry around awhile longer
Still, the point is that they get there. And it would be pretty cool to see Stockton welcome Malone in.
Sloan deserves it. Over his career he has proven that he really is one of the best coaches the game has ever seen. Wins don't lie.
