19-year-old inmate is stabbed in prison fight

Corrections Officers are one of the most underpaid of all law enforcemenet agencies. They cannot carry weapons around the inmates and this story illustrates what they must deal with at the cost of their own safety. We need to get these men and women better paid and recruit more of them, so that they are not over worked.

I am a corrections officer and we do put our lives at risk everyday we come in, and we are definately underpaid and overworked...that's part of the job. We can try to recruit all the officers that we can but most never stay because there is a risk that you can be killed, stabbed, raped or anything at anytime. It does not matter how many officers you have in your institution there will ALWAYS be more offenders than correctional officers. Just pray that the odds will continue to remain in our favor. And pray for the safety of all institutions

That is messed up that's why they should'nt house
teens in a prison and they should be more alert and watch them closer.

it should be only teens in one jail and the bigs boys in one so that would not have went on or if the cops was walking like they need to then they would have got him.
