Go Badgers. The third best college team in the state.
Re: Underdog | 12:12 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
Of course they are the third best college team in the state. Unless of course you actually look at the roster and see who plays where. Then look at the 4-year school rosters and see that the BEST players from snow are barely starting for the other schools in the state. So if you take the two or three best players from snow, they are maybe, MAYBE equal to some of the starters at 4-year schools. Then what about the other 9-10 players? How good are they? Not to mention the coaches! Please be realistic with Snow. They are who they are, a JUNIOR COLLEGE!!!

With out Junior College where would alot of teams in the country be without them oh yeah they would have prep schools oh no that is basketball that uses a 13th grade for people who can't cut it. I guess the Utes would of got Asaiti if he didn't go to Snow. Or how about Clawson for BYU. Or Ah You for Oklahoma. I won't keep going on because obiviously you have no clue about Snow College Football program. Then again you are writing a comment on a newspaper ad. I guess you forgot Josh Heupel for Oklahoma and heisman finalist or Paul Peterson Boston College. All the athletes I named went to Snow College.

Thank you for proving my point for me. The comment was made that snow was the third best football team. You named those 5 players over the past 10 years that have been able to make an impact. As a team snow is NOT better than any four-year school. Take Dixie for instance. Snow couldn't beat them for years, when they were a JC, but now that Dixie moves up and struggles against tougher opponents, now all of a sudden Snow could beat them? Does that really make sense to you? Be honest with yourself. Take off your Snow-goggles and be realistic!

Oh, and aren't you writing a comment on a newspaper ad too?

Classic! | 4:03 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
I love the intelligent people that think they now it all about a team. And then insult them because they are commenting on a newspaper ad. First of all, it's a newspaper article, no one is selling anything. Secondly, you are writing a comment too!
not you | 4:04 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
Bronco Mendenhall played at Snow.

So, by my understanding, if you are honest, or say anything negative about a team, you must know nothing about them. You need to get out of your bubble and stop drinking the Coburn-koolaid. Just because you recognize fault or weakness, doesn't mean you are uninformed, it probably means that you know more about it, or are closer to the situation than most. The ability to see weaknesses isn't a sign of hatred or contention, it's showing that you are objective and not completely emotionally attached. It shows that you are not myopic, but realistic.

Relevance, please | 4:25 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
Bronco did play at snow. Good Job on your research. How is that relevant to this thread of comments? I'll try to figure it out...Since Bronco played at snow in 1985, and Gary Crowton was a coach there, and they were both at BYU...I'm getting it, just hang in there...Provo is only 75 miles from Ephraim...almost have it...Gary's son Dane is a student at Snow...Bronco starts with a "b" and so does Badger...

Yeah, I can't do it. I just don't see the relevance.
Re: Re: Underdog | 4:51 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
I totally agree with your comments. Snow College is a junior college! Their players are junior college players! Their coaches are junior college coaches! Their facilities are junior college facilities!!! Stop the insanity! They are a JC and no better!
A Lot of great players | 5:07 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
Snow has had a ton of great players in it's history. a lot have gone to good D-1 schools and a few to the pros. It's great that lower-tier athletes can go there and play and get recognized. I think there is a reason why they don't have Badger Beat on KSL. It is a JC, and that's why it doesn't get a lot of coverage. But just because there is not a lot of coverage doesn't take away from what Snow has accomplished.
Relevance | 11:21 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
If you would do a little more research, you would learn that Snow has more players in the NFL than any other school in the state of Utah (Kevin Curtis, Deuce Lutui, Brett Keisel, Derek Smith - all NFL starters to name a few). Yes, more than BYU or Utah. Does that mean that they are the 3rd best team in the state? Certainly not, but it does demonstrate that there is a lot of talent that goes through Ephraim.

Winning, at any level, is never easy and Snow should be commended for competing as an elite program in the NJCAA. Each of the past 5 years, Snow has finished in the top 5 in the final polls.

Instead of applauding this success, naysayers choose to take potshots from the peanut gallery by making comments such as, "It's a JUNIOR COLLEGE" - as if that is suppossed to be derogatory. Of course it's a junior college...that doesn't mean that success shouldn't be recognized.

If you want to see some good football, you should plan to attend the Top of the Mountains Bowl on Dec. 6th at Rio Tinto Stadium. Last year, 43 different D-1 scouts attended the game.
