Yep, once again the best 4A school in 3A showed thier mettle by thrashing a small, first year 3A program. Congratulations to Coach Favero and Manning the Mouth. How embarrassing it will be next week when a real 3A team kicks your butts!

It's a new school in St. George, in the desert. It's a 3A right now, but could have 4A enrollment in 2-3 years.

Desert Hills is located in St. George. It's our fourth high school. That was a long ol' trip for those kids. I can show you at least 2 schools in the state of California that are geographically closer to St. George than Logan is.

Larry, getting on here and talking trash about a 17 year old kid and a coach is classy. You must have a pathetic life. Quit worrying about classifications and stop being a loser, Larry.

What was Logan suppose to do? Next week will be a challenge for both teams. D Hills will be a by far better team next year because of this season and will have the experience to go even deeper.

Hey Larry.... | 2:07 p.m. Nov. 1, 2008
A little bitter are we!? Give me a break man. Both Logan and JD had very easy first round games. But the "best 4A team in 3A" rant is very, very old. Grow up a little and say something constructive. Or how about you get on UHSAA's website and look at all of the school's enrollment. The whole region 9 is a joke. Why do you think that Desert Hills got into the playoffs? They played three teams in there "region". Weak. Just like your comments.

I wonder how it is that Logan located between Mt. Crest and Sky View can be a 3A and both the others are 4A. Could it be wrong and both the others should be 3A as well or maybe Logan could be 4A. In any event Logan has had its way with 3A and according to the UHSAA will reamin so for the next four years, no matter how the growth or redistribution of student is in the future. JD could be the big hurdle for Logan, we will see. Good luck to all the teams and remember to win with humility and loose with class.

What do you expect with a first year High School and new football team? Awesome that your record was better than Snow Canyons. Wait a few years, the boys coming up just went undefeated in Region, and beat an amazing Hurricane freshman team for the championship. Hold on northern teams...

I wonder how it is that Desert Hills is located in the same city as Pine View, Dixie, and Snow Canyon and can be in 3A while the others are 4A? Did my statement sound as ridiculous as yours!? Furthermore, what about Hurricane? All of you should be in 3A or 4A one or the other. And if you would do a little more research you would find that SV and MC have more students in grades 10-12 then Logan does total. Also while you are doing that research you would find that Logan is going back into 4A next year. I live in Hurricane and I think it's a joke that all the region 9 teams are in the same region, but different classifications. So don't complain about Logan being in 3A, you played 3 "region" games to get into the playoffs.

From what the state board voted, and what was reported in the paper (Spectrum), Desert Hills will be 3A until 2013, and PV, SC, Dixie will have to stay 4A until that time also. What a joke!!!!!!

You guys did a great job and you showed it with class. A pretty awesome feat for any school to make it into the playoffs their first year. Good luck in the future.

Way to get to the playoffs, and show humility and class when you lose. Your setting a great example to the younger boys who look up to you varsity players. Next year, keep it up!

"the 'best 4A team in 3A' rant is very, very old"
Old, yes but still appropriate. And region 9 is not a joke, but it is a mess. As Washington county continues to grow it may get better. It may get worse. We'll have to see.

I don't know Larry or what his agenda is but I sense strong feelings. Someone asked earlier 'what was Logan supposed to do?' I'll tell you: they should have done exactly what they did. You line up and play the game. I noticed in the box score that they didn't score in the second half. Obviously coach Favero pulled his horns in and played his people and should be commended for that. As for Desert Hills, they're just getting started. They're mostly juniors, the QB is a sophomore and I believe their Freshman team went undefeated this year. So watch out for the Thunder.

Congrats to all the first round winners.
