Utah Jazz: It's hard to shut Williams down, or up

I loved hearing about the "bench talk." It showed that there is good chemistry among the players; a key ingredient for success. If Williams can keep the team loose and comfortable on the bench, he is still contributing. All shooters know they have to be careful not to get too tight. It is difficult for professionals to remember they are playing a game and to have fun while they are doing it. Williams seemed to remember. Korver could take a lesson from Williams on how to remember to play even while on the bench. All "players" should focus on having fun while focussing on winning.... After all isn't winning synonymous with fun? I would love to see Sloan pick up on this like Frank Layden did during his coaching years. I heard Phil Jackson on the bench during the Laker's opener against the Clippers having some fun and I think this carries over to the players who take the same attitude to the floor. When the Lakers were arguing in past season amongst themselves, they struggled and played selfishly. Humor is a key ingredient to success on a team.

umm... what kind of article is this? Who cares? I was expecting something mildly interesting... but just got an article about how Deron talks too much? are you serious?
Who are you? | 10:36 a.m. Oct. 31, 2008
Who are these brilliant media critics who question the premise and the content of human interest sports stories? This is sports. Do you think it's life or death?

If you don't want sports, read something else.

I thought it was interesting how Deron was sitting right in the middle of the bench while Harpring and most other players spoting street clothes will sit behind the bench. I think that goes to show that Deron is highly invested in this team and wants to have an influence even when he can't be on the court. I like that about him.

DWill chatting it up. He has such a cute smile. Had to laugh, can't remember what happened on the floor, when Layden jumped up and "corralled" the players with his arms, I guess so they didn't go after a ref, or whatever. Or maybe he was holding Sloan back, don't know. Didn't notice anyone elses face, but DWill was laughing.

So what went on?

You know, most of you fans hold these guys to such high standards. You make them almost gods, and don't realize they have fun, and they joke around. They're humans, just like most of us. It was a good piece. what's it called, a human interest story??? For one, I like to hear that there are humans still around, and they have a sense of humor.

I for one am glad to see and hear that my Jazz "gods" are more human than divine. D-Will is a happy guy even if Korver told him to shut up. ha!
Good article, I loved it. Thanks for keepingt my feet on the ground!!

I love reading these type of articles. It lets you in on another side of the Jazz players that you don't usually see. Great read.
