Don't mess with Texas!
it's like pleading the 5th. Of course you can't be made to incriminate yourself - that's a good thing - but the very fact that you invoke it says you are afraid you will get caught doing that which you were't supposed to do.
for a "religious" organization, they act more like Scientologists (trying to hide everything) than the pious lot they portray themselves to be.
What a hoot ........a defendant trys to defend themselves and everyone blocks the defense,,,,,,
On the other hand it appears that Texas is the hiding. What about that so called "investigation" of Rosita Swinton? or the so called "investigation" of CPS into the abuse on the women and children reported by the MHMR workers from the Colliseum. Why didn't Texas invite the media in for the raid if they were so sure they were doing the right thing? Wouldn't the media have made them heros for "rescuing" all those women and children?
well said i think that texas in in for a royal inbarassment im a thinken. what do you think?
I think yall hit the nail on the head. texas is in for a royal imbarassment i'm a thinken. what do are you a thinken?
And as someone has already said: DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!!!
Oh yes...the evidence.....the mysterious evidence.......the evidence that with luck and a stacked court might get admitted.
Well 393 kids and their parents are out from under court supervision.
The one girl that is detained was testified against by two women who have never set foot on the ranch.
The bigamy charges with all the "evidence may be thrown out because the bigamy law is unconstitutional. To get thing real stired up the victims may never testify against the accused.
The real hoot is that Jeffs sits in prison alreadybusted so even with a conviction on additional charges the money spent is a waste.
Wanna buy an invisible crematorium anyone?
How about an 8x10 glossy of Jeffs kissing a 12 year old?
Seen any 37 year old teenagers lately?
Yep.......give the "evidence a try" then wait for it to be thrown out..........lol
PS..the baseball team..that was a good one!
and remember folks, dont mess with texas, it don't need no more messing up!
Jeffs is accused of crimes in Texas, NOT arizona. And the Prosecution has already said, they wont be using any evidence in the Texas case. This is just a ploy to hold of on the trial.
Jeffs will get his turn, in Texas Courts! Then his attorneys can depose Texas Rangers.
The reason Jeffs needs to be prosecuted in Arizona is because he may only serve eight years of his Utah sentence. More likely that he will serve a longer term since the photos of him molesting a 12 year-old were released and he committed acts like these during the period he was on the run. He thumbed his nose at the justice system. The more convictions, the less likely he will be back on the streets.
The lawyers are trying to see what influence the Rangers had on the thinking and motivation of local LE.
Local LE may have given the Rangers some credit for knowing about some things like crematoriums, dead babies, hairs in beds.......pregnant teens.
Kinda skews the objectivity of the local LE when credibility is given to persons spreadind second hand rumor from an uncredible source.
The Texas LE was getting their stuff from biased sources that have proven to have exxagerated even semi credible accusations.
Walther is going to allow in everything. If AZ decideds first that it's not allowed, her decision would look suspect.
That's why they don't want to use it.
The other reason the court should not force the Texas witnesses to comply is that Jeffs' lawyers are likely trying to glean information to prepare for his Texas cases under the pretext of gathering it for the Arizona case. That can wait until Jeffs is tried in Texas.
