This is the second time that deseretnews hasn't gotten the facts straight on this case. This man did NOT plead guilty in 2006, he was arrested in 2006. He plead guilty in June of 2008, after nearly a DOZEN continuances and other delays in court. Now that he doesn't like what recommendation has been made for his sentencing, he is attempting to write his own sentence (i.e., I will withdrawl my plea, if I don't like what you say will be my sentence) Since when does the defendant get to determine his punishment!!!!????? What is going on in the courts in St. George?
