35 million bucks and 393 traumatized innocent children and their parents yet Swinton still remains a "person of interest".
Texas needs to spend a dollar or two on an investigation of Swinton as well as the investigation promised by Meisner concerning conditions at ft Concho.
"No state charges are pending re: Swinton," spokesman Jerry Strickland said in an e-mail to the Deseret News.
--------------------------
The sheer incompetence of the Texas Rangers is amazing. Theyve been investigating this Swinton character since April, and still no charges. They were unable to find Sarah, and months after everyone knew the sixteen-year-old white Sarah was actually the nearly forty black Swinton, they were still looking for poor Sarah. They were unable to find Sarahs so-called abuser, even when put on the phone with him. They didnt bother to interview him until weeks later, and even then they spent just a few minutes doing it. They couldnt find the nine FLDS men they charged, even thought these men were right under their noses, until they finally broke down and gave out the names. What Keystone cops these are! What an embarrassment for Texas!
She's also an Obama Delegate, right?
hmmm...
The expulsion of young men to provide extra wives for the old men and the cheating on taxes. These adults are takers, not givers like the LDS....and they do it all under the blanket of religion.
At least the Texans responded, which is more than Utah and Arizona do. Polygamy is a crime! Adultery is one of the ten commandments. Any suggestions how to cure this ill?
Come on - let's hear it - "these kids have the same opportunities as any other children..." Yeah - I guess - as long as they're willing to give up everything they know and care about to go off on their own. Hell of a choice. And I'm sure most of you think that's totally fair.
LOL
Nice try though.
lol...Utahlady...saying the FLDS raid was "botched' is the kindest way to phrase it.
I hope Texas fires the whole crew that were involved in the premeditated planning of the raid...especially once it's proven that they knew the call was a hoax.
God bless the lawyers that are fighting for our constitutional rights - and by "our" I mean every US citizen because Texas was sure trying to take them away!
God bless anyone who is trying to protect the rights of the FLDS children and the taxpayers too!
Two wrongs do not make a right, and the FLDS need to understand they are infringing on my rights by bringing children into this world and expecting me and others to pay for them ,but they can circumvent the laws of this country, and worse yet the very God they profess to worship. Take away the welfare and tax breaks for not finishing their homes and there will be a lot less of them to support.
Give back your FHA loan, your college grants and loans and pay full price for goods and services made cheaper by government research and perhaps flds will return the food stamp money at yfz........whoops......CPS says there was no government assistance. Go after the government employees that granted the aid.....whoops they followed the law.
Have members give back their SS checks, it's the least you can do.
The idea that she "may start treatment" is disturbing. Why has she not been in treatment since last March if not long before that? Preferably in a facility where they keep her from using a phone.
Maybe when the Texas authorities see the pictures of Rozita they figure she looks 16. It is not much more preposterous that the ages of some of their disputed minors.
I'm waiting for one of the kids to sue their parents for destroying their ability to choose their future and for filling them with fear of the outside world.
Actually, I think a lot of the kids that went to foster care and back will remember that everyone isn't evil and that may allow them to go off into the world and do their own thing. That would at least make the entire episode not a total loss.
#2 To hear the FLDS tell it, under-aged marriages NEVER occurred before Warren. Its obvious that Warrens a pedophile, but now hes shamed his entire religion by turning at-one-point innocent men into pedophiles also. And now they are going to go to jail because of what their Pedophile Prophet forced upon them. How come the FLDS religion allows Warren to be a Pedophile Prophet? Poor little girls, and their own mothers wont even protect them. Poor little girls, you deserve much better than this.
Sheesh
#4 and last. If the FLDS believes EVERY word he speaks, then WHY dont they believe him when he says he is NOT the true Prophet? And that some man in Canada is the TRUE Prophet? Do the local leaders have too much to lose if the Canadian Prophet were to take over? I thought the FLDS religion wasnt about the money?
Ask why the Catholics contribute to their church after the priest scandal.......ask why people follow any religious leader.
Millions are made by churches to spread the word of God and some.....hopefully a minority of religious leaders, are crooks.
The money on Jeffs was accounted for in his notes and the "leadership" was aware of the uses for the money. Much of the cash was being transported to other church locations for church work.
I am sure that some money was fir Jeffs personal use but in reality a man on the run has to deal in cash to be untraceable and other than a church owned car he wasn't seen hitting the gambling halls.
The guy...Jeffs .....may have been a religious nut and he certainly wasn't an accountant. The man was in over his head.
