CJ played the point last night better than Deron ever plays it. Sloan needs to make the change immediately if we are going to win a championship this year. Deron will make a great back-up.

Miles listen to Sloan! Go for a Layup first, then shoot your jumper. Miles better get in the gym with AK47 and Horny and learn how to shoot because he was missing alot of open shots out there. Give us a reason why? we pick up your offer miles? and stay out of the port 'O Call 2!!

Hey did somebody forget to tell CJ that just because he got that nice contract 15 millon doesnt mean he can shoot the ball 15 millon times. Figure it out C.J and dont complain when you are sitting on the bench next to J-Slo

LOL @ Miles | 8:26 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
I wouldn't mind seeing CJ as the back up point guard. We need to give him more minutes, but with Brewer and Price both playing well, it will be a toss up. But Deron is the man in Utah -- no doubt.

to Miles: Are you kidding me? make deron williams the backup to cj miles? that's the funniest post i think i've ever read on this board. Deron williams is a consistant ball player and an all-star player. He has proved himself in the NBA, miles has yet to do that. So to say that williams should be a backup is a rediculous statement to make. Go Jazz and Go Aggies

Miles a no show | 9:18 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
Overtime was just painful to watch. No one seemed capable of running the offense. No one could knock down a shot. Miles and Almond were both no shows.

I think that Miles is probably C.J.'s brother, or mother.

Still we don't have a very good backup point guard (I love night but C.J. is much better).

Also C.J. would really present HUGE match-up problems for other teams. Their PGs are already going to be worn out and beaten up trying to contain the very physical Williams. Instead of giving them a rest with the pint sized Knight or Price we could put the 6-6 Miles in and watch their PGs faint.

Think of the this lineup, CJ Miles, Brewer, Korver, AK47 and Fes' or Koufous. I know we'd be weak at the Center position but with all that size and range from the outside we'd have one of the strongest second lines in the league. Further if our centers ACTUALLY learn to play defense with AK at the 4 slot we'd have a lockdown defense and enough offense to fluster any team's backups.

CJ to the 1, AK47 to the 4, finals here we come.

I wasn't impressed with the Jazz....Deron looked good at times, however, turnovers and poor defense with the Jazz style of B-Ball isn't very appealing to watch in the pre-season. I think Hollinger had it right when he talked about the JAZZ and their need to stop fouling. I haven't seen anything to this point that indicates that they have a CLUE how to do that. Anytime someone gets a step behind they HACK the CRAP out of that player instead of trusting a teammate to cover them. Coaching philosophy change......PLEASE!!

Miles "Comment" | 10:21 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
For those that didn't get it. It was a joke to say that Miles should be the PG instead of Williams. Because for a comment to be made like that it would have to be sarcastict.

If not that person should never comment again about basketball, because they don't know anything about it.

But I really do like Miles as a player.

so much for Memo's ... | 12:12 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
working out over the summer. What's the point of bulking up if you still flinch and fold in the paint instead of taking a charge. That was pathetic Memo and it's not the 1st time either!

My comment was not a joke. CJ should start as point guard. With Deron coming off the bench we would be so much better and there would be no fall-off. With CJ playing with the starters, he looks better and Deron makes the subs play better with him on the court. I know more about basketball than any of you on here. If you want to win a championship you have to make sacrifices. So which is it for you fair weather fans?

Come On, D-News! | 12:48 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
Here's a quick rundown of the seven photos accompanying the Utah/Denver game - Sloan arguing a call; Deron Williams struggling to maintain a defensive position; Carlos Boozer fouling Carmelo Anthony; Andre Kirilenko trapped in the corner by Carmelo Anthony; Carmelo right before he scores against CJ Miles; Kyle Korver attempting a jump shot: and Andre Kirilenko trying to pass the ball. FIVE out of seven photos show the Jazz NEGATIVELY - WHAT'S WITH THAT?!? The hometown newspaper can only come up with TWO, at best "neutral", photos to showcase our team against a division rival? Seriously? You can't do better than that? Your photographer, or photo editor, should be hung out to dry, or maybe offered a job at the Denver Post! That's ridiculous.

@ Miles

Um, nevermind...

@ anybody who wants to have an intellignet discussion

I am still seriously concerned aobut Boozers turnover problems. Does anbody else see this? I think his turnovers were a bigger problem than his lousy shooting in last years playoffs and so far this pre-season he has 7 turnovers in 34 minutes of play. Unfortunately I live out of Utah now so I don't see many games but on the surface those numbers are scary. Somebody help me understand why a guy who seems to be able to score at will around the basket keeps giving the ball to the other team.

I agree with "Miles 'comment'" | 1:47 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
that "Miles" should never post again. Granted posts on this board don't always reflect thoughtful analysis, but come on! I love CJ Miles, but he is not going to (and absolutely should not) start ahead of D-Will at the point for ridiculously obvious reasons that are too numerous to mention.

"Mile"'s 12:24 p.m. comment is a continuation of the joke in his first post? Like a running gag or something?

Anyone who would name their dog Stockton is never going to be a fan of Boozer. As for me, I think Miles should be a starter instead of Williams. Makes a lot of sense if you want to win games. Better than bringing Knight or Price off the bench. Now that is a JOKE!!
