I liked the lawyer's comment:

"Let's give the legal system the opportunity to work," Greg Smith, Yama Kashifi's attorney, said outside court Wednesday

The legal system will send these men away for a little while...

If you look into the supposed investor - you will find this is a pattern for him.

If you look into the supposed investor (Barber) you will find he has a pattern of doing this. Things aren't always as they appear.

It' always amusing to hear investors blame their financial advisors for their investment loses. The investor, of course, is innocent. . . He is "forced" to invest and absolved from doing his own due diligence before handing over his money to some program or scheme. Most "schemes" can be identified before money is lost, by a little careful investigation and consultation with trusted and seasoned mentors. In talking with clients, many of whom have invested large amounts in the stock market, few of them really understand what investments they have or why their advisors have recommended them. They usually give more thought as to which appliance to buy (or other small-ticket purchase) than to how to invest their life savings.

I think that when anyone invests in a get rich quick scheme they get what they deserve. But if they kidnapped a man and threatened to kill him they deserve a whole lot more than they got. These same men have probably dealt drugs and tried every possible way to get rich quick. They had their 3 strikes. All 3 of them belong in jail!

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
