Papal proclamation does not "make" or "grant" sainthood. God had already granted sainthood to the four individuals canonized and mentioned in this story, at the hour of their death. The Holy Father (and the Curia) recognized it and acknowledged it in the name of the Church based on tangible evidence God gave us.

With all respect to you and the wonderful people mentioned in this story, the things you said were not stated in the article, and may not be accepted by everyone that reads this as "facts." That takes nothing away from the great things they did, but the story is an impartial one, and the headline accurately reflects what was written.
