Class 2A error: North Summit is 7-1 not 1-4!!

I cant wait either .... It will be a great game ...too bad it is in Delta! Probably be snowing with 60 mph winds that will put ice on the ball while they pass it! The ONLY bad part about winning the game for Juan Diego will be that they will have to face Logan in their playoff bracket, which is still the team to beat in 3A this year and will be a force in the playoffs, so the good news for Delta is that they will not have to face Logan this year and can beat Morgan! Final score Juan Diego 27 Delta 7! It will be a Hurricane vs. Juan Diego State 3A Championship this year. Juan Diego will WIN! ONLY 12 more days to see WHO really is the BEST team in Region 8 and the ONLY undefeated team left in 3A!

i'm happy to see the diggers finally up here in the top 5 again. the next two games are crucial...skyline and alta.

I don`t think it`s going to be as close as you think J.D is to good on both sides of the ball and to much desire for Delta to handle J.D by 3 touchdowns

I would love to see Timpview play Alta

I'm a Jordan fan and I dont believe Jordan's last two games against Skyline and Alta are "crucial" like you said.
With wins over Brighton, T-ville and Hillcrest Jordan has already clinched a playoff birth. And with Jordans end of season injuries the last 2 seasons, leading to early playoff exits, I say Jordan rest their starters agians Skyline and Alta, take the Losses and be at full strength for the playoffs!!

Alta will not bet by Jordan. Everyone knows the real State Championship in 5A will be played one week early between Layton and Bingham. It is unfortunate that the pairings don't line up the two best in State for the championship game. When will the UHSAA get it right.

You must be a Layton fan? This year, the real state championship will not be decided in the semi-finals as it was a year ago! The two best in 5A will match in the finals this year pitting Alta against Bingham! Mark My Words!. Layton is a solid team but they will not be able to outplay the defensive unit of Bingham. Kind of like last year when the 4 horsemen were stifled by the Hawks stingy defense.

Alta and Bingham are the class of 5A football, and that game in November, will draw in thousands of fans.

Sure are a lot of people that talk about the "REAL championship game". There are brackets for a reason. You can't please everybody. Some years, there will obviously be 'easier' brackets. But that's the way the oblong football bounces. The 5A 'TRUE CHAMP' will be between the 2 that make it to the top. The 4A 'TRUE CHAMP' will between.......and so on and so on.

At least high school in Utah gets it right. The BCS/NCAA/BS system can't get it right, and won't until they go to a bracket system. Weber St at least has a 'chance' to be the nat'l FCS champ.

These are the actual power rankings derived from the same system that Arizona uses to crown their state championships. Utah needs to get on board with this system! It works! This is how it would work in 5A. When the final games of the regular seaon are played, the 4 region champions would get an automatic birth into the state tournament. The next twelve spots are in determined by the power ranking. Then all sixteen teams are seeded based on their power rankings, and the tournament is played. You could realistically have #1 and #2 playing every year, which is how it should be. No more inviting teams to the tournament that have no business being there. No more seeding the tournaments 3 years in advance! A playoff system like this is what every high school football fans in the state would like to see at all classifications. Everyone needs to petition the UHSAA to make the necessary changes. It works in Arizona, California, Texas, and Colorado. Why not in Utah?

Ha Ha Ha, I get it! Sarcasm about all the comments last year about not having a Bingham-Alta state championship matchup. Nice, ....that is if you ARE being sarcastic? Anyway, the Bingham-Layton semi will be a nice tuneup game for Bingham before they go against the Hawks in the championship game.
On another note, I think Skyline is a team that will do some damage in the playoffs. Jordan will find out how tough the Eagles are next week. Riverton is also a team that can do damage. I haven't watched P.G. play but from the looks of their scores they should be competitive with anyone. As you can tell I'm not convinced with Layton. But I would be excited to see a Layton-Bingham semi.

Don't kid yourself. I'm not saying Alta is the best team(only time will tell), but they are definitely a championship caliber team. Also, Alta handled Bingham earlier this year, so you might want to back up your comments otherwise you'll be eating your words! Plus, "Alta will not bet by Jordan"? You wanna clarify what that means?

There is no way Binghams, Alta or Pleasant Groves Defense is better then Layton. It's just un fortunate with the number of fans that Layton draws that Bingham and Layton can't meet in the championship. We all know however, that the truc championship will be played one week early.

Wait a second... Those "power rankings" could not be right.. If they are then Timpview has beaten 2 of the top 6 5A teams. They only schedule and beat sissie teams. And by the way Cottonwood has beaten another..

And, including Northridge in the top 5 of anything is a joke!!!

What's all this talk about Bingham-Layton being the "real" championship game?? All of a sudden Alta is not in the same league as those two teams? That's a joke!!! Alta has already beat Bingham this year and they are currently ranked #1. We'll just have to wait and see...
