Parking not a big problem at 1st RSL game in Sandy

Wow. Whine, Whine, Whine. What a whiney article

Good thing the other lot owners didn't catch on what the owners of the "vacant/unused" Lowes parking lot did. Post small signes and then using the lure of a large unused parking place for people to park in the tow the cars charging $227.00 per car, that is more than the $ 10.00 per car charged elsewhere.

Anybody try to walk to the stadium from parking / tracks? I did. we could barely walk 2 abreast. There were awful sidewalks that make it appear that the planners assumed the sidewalks would never be used.

What is this Utah Transit Association the author talks about? I have heard of the Utah Transit Authority, but never an Association. What gives?

Sandy needs to build sidewalks. The sidewalk around Jordan Commons was only three feet wide. Too small to push a stroller on, let alone get thousands from tracks to the game. If Sandy wants a big-boy stadium maybe they should have built a big-boy sidewalk first.

I don't understand what all the drama is about. It is no different than attending an event anywhere else. Peter Corroon's 'hero' Larry Miller provided exactly ZERO parking spaces for the 'Jazz arena' and I don't see story after story about how people have to walk or pay for parking or recover their towed cars after parking illegally. City after city, venue after venue, people have to find a parking/transportation solution that works for them. It's a common reality. Deal with it.
If Pete Funaro wants to let me have the income from managing the parking on his vacant lot, I'll come sit on my butt for a couple hours for a couple hundred bucks. Same for Ed Kehl. I'm not sure how he feels he got 'screwed'. It sounds to me like he just got a substantial income AND property value boost.
Thanks for the article Rebbeca but it would be nice to see the media call people on their drama and pretense once in a while.
