I feel bad for the spouses and kids of those involved in these illegal schemes.

I make an honest living, and don't do anyone any harm. I am far from a millionaire. Know why I live an honest life? I love my kids and wife, and want to be there for them. They would rather I be there for them, than to make them visit me in prison, like those mentioned in this story.

I can remember in the not so distance past that a doctor's word,reputation,life style and integrity was never questioned.seems that is not the case anymore with medicare fraud,doctor shopping etc,etc.we still have some of the best DOCTORS on the planet.

Aren't we all so quick to judge. He who is without sin cast the first stone.

There is a Thomas Myers mentioned in the indictment. He is from Sandy and is not a physician according to KSL news.

Please know that he is NOT either of the two Dr. Thomas Myers' practicing medicine in Provo, UT. The two Provo Dr Myers' are not party to this incident.

I feel sad for the families involved in the situation. However, you CAN NOT believe everything that you read, or hear on the news. We don't know the details or the truth of what happened. Innocent until proven guilty. Unfortanantly, in this country, and especially in this community who thrives off of gossip, it's guilty until proven innocent. I pray for these families.

I pray for the family's of those who have became addicted to the controlled substances, that was so easily acquired. I could care less for the ones that have been living the good life.

This website sold Phentermine......If any of you know anything about this drug, it's been around for 50 years and has not been responsible for ONE death! You can't even say that about tylenol or asprin. It's not like these people were selling oxy, or loritab and allowing others to get high off of prescription drugs. This is weight loss we're talking about, which kills hundreds of thousands of people each year.
The DEA is trying to make an example out of the wrong people. All this company did was take from the profits of wealthy pharmaceutical companies that spend billions of dollars a year in advertising and pay lobbyists and polititians millions to keep their drug on the shelf and rid of anyone (like these folks) for taking from their profits............
Next time you watch TV, count how many drug commercials there are during a one hour program, the DEA doesn't care unless these wealthy Pharm. companies care

In the Tribune the article tells how the investigation was started by a board of pharmscist shat were upset by how much money was being made by these websites instead of their pharmacies. Note how Attorney Brett Tolman is concerned about the greed of these people, even though they are just living the american dream of capitalism. Whats next from US Attorney Tolman prosecuting all emotions as crimes.

If they are selling phentermine along with valium, xanax and ritalin as mentioned in the article, then, yes, there is a problem. Xanax is addictive and people have died from overdosing on it. Unfortunately, in our culture we rationalize our wrongs by pointing out a small benefit. If it's illegal then you don't do it. I hope that everyone involved is honest about their knowledge and involvement.

So Crosby starts a business and gets his friends, neighbors invloved in what they think is a legitimate Co. and then when caught he decides to pull everyone down with him. Nice guy! Hope this ends well for all the families involved. All for diet pills????

The DEA should spend their time looking for ... i don't know.... Meth, Cocaine, and Heroin smugglers instead. Come on now..diet pills. Go fight some crime!

Dr. Brinton is my neighbor. I have known him over 25 years. He has always shown the greatest capacity to love his neighbors more than anyone I've ever known. Let's get real about the medical profession. Many OB/GYN doctors are not practicing medicine because of the excessive lawsuits attached to the profession. Any doctor dealing with life and death has some failures. I will guarantee you that none of these problems was done with intent to harm or a lack of professionalism. Nowadays, people refuse to accept certain consequences that life imposes on them. They either blame God, the government or the doctor. Tragedy happens. I'm sorry it does, but it does. Bottom line, I love Dr. Brinton and his family. They have my complete devotion. I pray they will be exonerated. Joanne Wilson

Dear Concerned, et al.,
Just to set the record straight, I learned that those main guys in the article never sold anything other than the diet pill Phentermine. Phentermine is very harmless. It is much less addictive than even caffeine. In fact, it is not addictive nor harmful in the least but yes, it is a schedule IV drug and requires a prescription. I do not condone online pharmacies operating outside of the law but I think it is appropriate to put this case in perspective. I agree with "dietpills" comments, why doesn't our government spend their resources on something more devastating to our society like illegal drugs such as meth and heroin, etc. Or even turn to the doctor's and pharmacies "legally" passing out oxycodone like candy, which only helps turn many into addicts and those addicts often into heroin users. I feel like this case is a waste of our governments time and money. Treat it like a misdemeanor and slap them on the hand. My goodness, get real people, prison time over selling diet pills!! Use some common sense!

All of this time, effort, and government money wasted chasing after a wonderful physician who I suspect did not have a clue that what he was doing was wrong. I know Dr Brinton. I can totally see him ordering medication for his patients so that he could offer it in his office, saving them time and money. I know he did not do this with any illegal intent. He has always wanted to take care of patients. Why doesn't the DEA go after the meth/cocaine dealers that are killing our teens and children. This physician did not do this off the street in some dark alley. He told patients about it - it was public. Please go after the REAL DRUG DEALERS! The ones that hide out on the street !

It's ILLEGAL to sell prescription drugs without a license and a prescription no matter if it's pain killer or diet drug. It's illegal. Don't rationalize how great a person this Brinton guy is. There are plenty of people are look nice enough on the outside but who are terrible dishonest people. The fact is that they knew it was illegal and they did it anyway. There's no difference between Brinton and Crosby and the pot dealer - they sell drugs for money. I'm assuming some of these comments that defend these guys come from clients because it's too ridiculous to believe that people would actually defend drug pushers. Don't try to interpret the law by your moral or immoral code. Change the law if you don't like it instead of rationalizing it.

Dr B is awesome. He has always extended every bit of decency and kindness to me in the years that I've known him. He would never do anything to harm anyone. I truly don't know any one person who has opened his heart and door (at home and in his pratice) to more people than this man. I can honestly say that I have the utmost respect and admiration for Dr Brinton and I hope and pray for his exoneration.

What a waste of time and money for the DEA to go after weight loss pill vendors...illegal or not, this is such a joke! I'll tell you what's really sad, there are more drug dverdose deaths from prescription pain killers than cocaine or heroin in the US...that's whats sad! I say let the weight loss guys go, and work on regulating the REAL prescription drug problems!!!

My understanding is that only now did congress pass a bill called the "ryan haight act" which makes prescribing online illegal. The president is set to sign any day. How was this doctor supposed to know the law when there was none?
