Tom Brokaw won. Twice he chastised Obama for going over the time limit, but
never complained about McCain directly. Guess we know who Tom is voting for.
The one thing I remember was Obama calling for the oil companies to return the 68 million acres of leases they were sitting on if they did not put them into production. Why do they want more? Are they stockpiling them?

Someone, please, let obama know that the real reason for Americas,economical
meltdown. Was caused by the corruption of our government, BANKING COMMISSION.
Headed by the democrat, CHRIS DODD. Who by the way, received the most money,
from Fanny Mae amd Freddi Mac. My hope would be that our FBI, will use our
finest agents to bring these men to justice. Then and only then can JUSTICE BE
SERVED!!! A word to the wise is sufficient.

Obama is the man! He took McCain to the cleaners. We need fresh ideas in

Neither won this debate, It wasn't really much of a debate, both dodged
questions and both pointed fingers. Either man will be insignificant. We have

McCain doesn't come across well at all. He gives the impression, and
it's probably an accurate impression, that all he cares about is winning
the election. Oh, he tries to make it look like he cares about the average
American, but it isn't fooling the voters. What John McCain cares about is

McCain is desperately promising anything to get elected. He is attacking Obama
like he did Romney. The scariest thing is his shoot from the hip style with his
new proposal to bail out bad mortgages, bring Palin on the ticket, go into Iraq
rather than after Bin Laden, etc.
I for one have had enough swift boating and shooting from the hip in the white house. McCain is just an older version of Bush. I am ready for a steady hand, a thoughtful mind and a leader who is loyal to his wife.

Until we stop the Short Sales then we are not protecting the banks or the
economy.
Reality: I am a Realtor and this IS what's happening today.
People are now taking advantage of the banks by selling their homes on a "Short Sale" to their friend. The homes sells for half it's value and a few months later they buy the home back from their friend for half the price they were obligated to originally.
If the government wants to protect the banks AND the people then they will disallow short sales. Protecting the people from foreclosure only hurts the bank and enables the people to have more power in a short sale. Some Realtors see this as an opportunity to make a lot of money. Convince the people to do a short sale. They never move out, there is no For Sale sign in their yard and they get the home for half price. This is nothing but dishonest.... but the banks allow it. Why?
If a bank allows a short sale then the bank should resell the home. The homeowner should move out. This would protect the bank and the economy. Oh wait, that would be a foreclosure.

I'd be interested to know the number of liberal democrats who made stupid financial decisions and bought a home they couldn't afford. The conservatives don't have the corner on this stupidity market. I think you'd find the room equally full of Democrats.

As I watched the debate, I couldn't help but notice that while Sen. Obama
was presenting his side to the issues, Sen. McCain could be seen wandering
around in the background, walking back and forth for whatever reason. Talk about

very selective hearing, I would suggest going back and reding the transcriot
from last night, both men talked about policy plans to address
"issues". they could have both spent less time on attacks but they did
talk about policy to address "issues." I am thinking maybe Obama has
just not addressed your pet "issue" or maybe you just don't like
the answers Obama gives.

McCain is the Bob Dole of 2008, and to be honest I'm not all that sad about
it. As I watched the debate last night I was cringing at every response he made.
He looked old and out of touch. His ideas were even worse as if buying up home
loans for Americans were some sort of conservative great new idea. Don't
try to out spend the liberals, it just doesn't work.
I should be scared that Obama is going to win, but I'm not really. The Republican's sold us all down the river messing up our economy with the finanial collapse. (I don't believe all my favorite talk radio hosts that it was all Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, look who had the majority in congress at the time, and those Republican's did nothing as far as oversight!) We don't have a conservative party any more, so what does it hurt to let the liberals take over for a while. Both candidates can point fingers all they want about who is responsible for the
financial mess. Truth is, the only people to we can blame are ourselves, the
consumers. When did it suddenly become acceptable for a middle class family to
live like rock stars? I'm sorry if you mistakenly purchased a home that
was way out of your league, but I didn't. And now that I am in the
position to afford a little more house, I will appreciate very much the huge
savings I'm about to get from your foreclosure. I'm no expert, but I
believe that might be an example of the market forces Republicans have been so
crazy about for the last couple of decades.

World politicians and enemy states (yes we have them) will make the US look like a bunch of dunces.
McCain eviscerated the 1st Amendment provision of free speech. He wants to screw up the insurance racket even more (hint for McCain: put the consumer in charge, not the insurance companies).
Both are fascists: they want a larger role of government in our lives and that is the hallmark of fascism -- a large controlling central government.

but the media refuses to give them any chance to debate with these two jokers.
There are two independant party candidates that really resonate with me. They
are: Charles Baldwin of the Constitution Party and Ralph Nader of the Beacon of
Light Party. Either one of these two men would be a much better choice for
President, because they believe in the Constitution and they also have a grasp
of the economy sitution and have very viable solutions to fix it. The only
reason that I know anything about these two men is because my state sent me a
voter's guide in the mail and I have read their messages. If you really
want to help America, do not vote for either McCain or Obama.

Bank trimmed its key rate to 3.75% from 4.25%, and the Bank of England cut its
benchmark rate to 4.5% from 5%. The Bank of Japan sat out the move but issued a
statement backing the action. The Bank of Canada, the Swiss National Bank and
the Swedish Riksbank cut rates as well. The move was hailed by economists, but
did little to provide lasting support for tumbling equity markets. European
indexes rebounded strongly but soon returned to the downside. U.S. stock index
futures spiked higher, but then dove back into negative territory. Incoming
economic data suggest that the pace of economic activity has slowed markedly in
recent months. Moreover, the intensification of financial market turmoil is
likely to exert additional restraint on spending.
