Why no numbers on Snow College or CEU. Are these institutions non-entities?

What about SUU and DSC? No numbers on them either? There's a big, bold state beyond Payson!

To think that people live past Payson is a stretch for many in the state. If you looked at revenue generation for the state from taxes, Southern Utah adds quite a bit to the bottom line but our schools aren't worthy to be included in the grand scheme of things. Hey, at least our tax money is still good right!!!

What is concurrent enrollment?

" A diferent way of counting enrollment" Doesn't that kinda make the 8.5% headline kinda meaningless. By the way Southern Utah, what is up with the complaining. I live in Southern Utah and reading the story, I noticed they didn't mention anything South of Provo. I also noticed they did not include the State's largest universities. My opinion of this article is could have been a lot better.

Click the "enrollment" story graphic link at the top right of the page. It has everyone's numbers. Concurrent enrollment is high school students taking "college level" classes that count for both h.s. graduation and college credit. Popular with students and their tuition-paying parents. Unpopular with community colleges. Guess who wins? Not the community colleges.

1) Claiming the enrollment is up by 8.5% is deceptive. While actually headcount is up by 8.4*%, actual FTE is up 2.69%. "More students taking fewer classes" would be a more accurate header.

2) While USU is down by the total number of heads oncampus. Students are actually taking more classes.

This article needs help on a number of fronts. C'mon Dnews!

UVU rocks! What's up with all you numbers geeks? Who cares about the stupid details. Whats important is enrollment is up and budget is down. Which totally sucks. Oh. And that UVU is the best school ever.... that is why more students are going there.
