Idaho college students face tough voting restrictions

I have to agree with Idaho on this one. Idaho, or any state, does not have to
give out of state students residency. If they did then all students would
receive the benfits of instate students with lower costs. Most college students
carry their parents residence as their home and this should be the criteria for
voting. They can use absentee ballots to vote in their home states just as
military does. What is so difficult about using absentee ballots? That is what
it was established for. Until a student leaves college they are considered a
resident of their home state. A college student cannot declare a college as
their residence at the same time they carry residency in their home state and
parents home. This also violates voting laws. If college students were allowed
to claim college as residence the parents will not be able to use them as tax
deductions or dependents on tax returns because they have to remain members of
the household. Once they denounce residency in a home state they are no longer a
dependent of the parents. Sounds like politics is trying to work its way into
the education system for captive voters.
