To my Utah neighbors from your friend next door: Please wake up and see Palin
for what she is--an opportunist who will say and do anything to get elected.
Since the debate where she refused to answer most of the questions put to her,
she is now quoted as saying that Obama pals around with terrorists and is no
better than a terrorist. Incredible; the woman has no shame. I don't see
Obama/Biden making personal character attacks at all; quite the contrary. But I
see that the McCain/Palin playbook hasn't changed since the Republican
primaries where McCain treated Mitt Romney like dirt. Go ahead and vote
Republican again--support those that are in contempt of us as LDS; the
Republican evangelicals want our votes but they think we're going to hell
and they sure won't support any LDS for president. Sometimes I wonder
about our capacity for self-hatred as manifested by the continuing voting
patterns for those who despise us but want our votes. Until Utah wakes up and
votes for a different party, things will not change and we'll continue to
be taken for granted and remain the laughingstock of the nation.

It's looking like we won't need to look back at double digit inflation
or interest rates. More likely than not, they're on their way here. Either
nominee has a tough road after the mess of the GWB administration. It's
clear that the vp debate didn't change any minds. One side thinks the other
lied, or was wrong (they did, or were, from either direction) and that their
candidate was perfect. It's attitudes like this that got us in the mess
we're in. No wonder our leaders are such morons, we let them be.

Like Gov. Palin, I was a 44 year old mother who chose life for my Downs baby. I
am really tired of all the people who claim to respect a woman's
"rights" and yet condemn THIS woman for having a career. What
hypocrisy!
In fact, I chose homebirth for my Downs son--condemn me for my choice of where to deliver, too.
I chose alternative therapies for my baby, rather than send him off in a little bus for full-day "early intervention".
I chose homeschool for my son.
Lots of people criticized some or all of my choices, but they were MY choices, made in the best interests of my son and my family.
I am equally sure that Gov. Palin and her husband have carefully considered their choices, too.

I thought both Senator Biden and Governor Palin did well. certainly better than
the bloggers were expecting. Neither party has real change for the people. We
would still be working away from families, buying insurance, dealing with daily
stress of child care, college tuition, sons in military, conflicts over
abortion, marriages, and religion.
Rebuilding the military, building alliances to fight other people's wars, enticing more people to enlist and prepare for war, and giving better benefits is not change.
If we turned from our employment lifestyle that causes stress, pollution, disease, accidents, afflictions, wars and conflicts, we would not need universal health care, social services like welfare and pre-kindergarten child care.
Alliances would not be needed if we turned from our lifestyle of building military weapons, manufacturing, processing, and transporting food, goods, and people around the world to creating a garden paradise that supplies our needs in our communities.
Now we recognize we are going the wrong way and real freedom will only come when we make a complete turn in the opposite direction... a turn toward the wisdom of God where a garden paradise has all the riches we will ever need. Pray; the way is prepared before us.

Why is it that the state of Utah in the latest polls shows an overwhelming
percentage of the people like McCain-Palin as compared to Obama-Biden? I mean
the national percentages don't even come remotely close to Utah. As most of
you know that watch any TV, Obama-Biden are many points ahead and it widens
every day. To the question again Utah is way ahead of the republican national
percentages for their party in their favor of McCain-Palin. What does that tell
you about Utah?

Beside Mitt Romney Pallin is the most qualified. I enthisiastically support her

It doesn't matter who the candidate is, the majority in Utah is going to
vote Republican.
I think that Obama is going to win the election (He will not be getting my vote, but neither will McCain).
What would be interesting is that a 3rd party candidate were to win in Utah. The Republican Party assumes that they automatically get Utah's votes. Voting for a 3rd party candidate will not change the outcome of the election, Obama winning, but doing so might help voters across the country look outside the 2 party system in the next election.
We could show the country that we don't agree with Obama but we do not want 4 more years like the last 8.

Senator Palin was brilliant! She is a respected Governor and is very successful
in her own right. As for Joe Biden, aren't there any rules for accuracy in
a debate? Our family sat around and laughed and caught him in at least two
outright lies. This guy is a liar and was caught in a plagiarizing scandal a
few years ago. I follow politics closely and read alot about both candidates.

campaign. Palin herself in the debate. That's amazing considering she said
next to nothing specific. (Specifically, she lied when she said that the McCain

I believe every American should vote, and vote for the people they believe will
do the best job. My problem is that our system has not put anyone on the tickets
I feel good about voting for. Sometimes we end up voting more against someone,
than for someone. This time I don't want to vote for either. I agree with
those who say Sara is a nice lady who might even make a decent Vice President.
But with John's age, President Palin is a real possibility and that scares
me to death. People make a big deal out of Barack's lack of experience but
he has tons in comparison. I don't however want a president who looks down
on many of the people of this nation because of his feelings of superiority. I
sure wish there was a third viable choice because I would sure rather vote for
them. Problem is, none of our national leaders, given our current financial
dilema, and the manner they are dealing with it impress me much. Things however
could be worse. I could be living in another country.

much more experience than he does. All you have to do is a little research.

I actually dont' think Sarah is a breath of fresh air like some people are
saying. I think we want her to be, but she just isn't. She is actually
reminding me of Bush how she is saying she doesn't like to cooperate with
the media. But that is who she will talk through to the American people if voted
VP.
It's just about honestly for me and I feel she isn't being honest. And a president to be, should be honest.
One thing that is bothering me is that she said she would cooperate with Alaska's inquiry into her firing an official from her office, but now that probe is trying to be blocked by lawyers.
If she doesn't have anything to hide, then she wouldn't need anyone blocking the inquiry.
It's just suspicious.
We need to know if she is engaged in unlawful activity before voting on her.
I also heard that by her approval Alaska charges women for rape kits. And that is just plain scary. Further victimizing the victim knowingly seems uncivil.

This debate draws out so much hypocrisy in people. We hear so much about
Palin's lack of experience and I ask myself why I haven't heard this
about Obama, about Bill Clinton (who incidentally according to Dick Morris
didn't know a thing about foreign policy and was totally propped up by a
support staff during his debates). Is this any different?
The problem that Sarah presents to the media is that she is not the typical woman in politics - she is nothing like Hillary. There is such an obsession to go out and get her by whatever means they can. It was so obvious in Charlie Gibson's interview. I lost my entire respect for Charlie for his condescending, peek over the spectacles, and that question about the Bush Doctrine -- Charlie didn't even know what it was himself....

The Presidential and VP debates have served a great purpose for me. I don't
want any of them. For the first time I am going to look else where. I can't
in good faith vote for the establishment any longer.

Palin stuck to the issues she felt would allow her to prove her standards,
government on the side of the people, being tolerant of alternative life styles
but supporting traditional marriage, using our own resources instead of
importing them, working toward improved education through teacher pay and less
government control over education. Biden was very clear on his support of
socialistic government and moving away from capitalistic standards. The
government is not the answer to everything and although Bush has made some
errors, place the blame where it belongs, in the Congress and if you can't
see that then look at the illegal bill that just passed congress after failing
in the house, check out the constitution on legislating bills, amending bills
that have failed in one house, etc. Want more of this keep those liberals in
there, like Biden who have lived off the citizens for his whole life and
afterwards will reap not only pay for life, but rewards as a public speaker,
author, etc, hmmm, wonder if his socialistic attitude will change when he finds
it is capitalism that will keep him in his lifestyle.

The debate showed some points from both candidates, however, the issue is what
philosphy do we as a country need to support? One that allows partial bith
abortions, check out Dan Federosco's research on this subject, what about
the socialistic move that we are so deep into now that capitalism is on the way
to extinction, how can the government who is irresponsible in accounting for the
trillions of dollars it alots to various entities, like the wooden arrow
factory, actually keep our country from imploding? What about the congress
ingnoring the procedure for legislation? The government cannot be the answer to
the citizen's choices, nor can it be counted on for accountable business
practices, those are just a few of the issues and unless we address them with
our votes, both in this election and in the upcoming congressional elections
then we must look forward to living in a socialistic state where the people will
be in bondage to the government until we cannot produce the funds necessary to
fill their greedy coffers, then we will be cast out as undesireables. Vote your
conscience, vote for the future of your families. Vote knowledgeable

If she were to become president, she'd be even more ignorant and dependent on everyone around her than Bush. If anyone can tell me how she is going to provide anything more than good press for McCain, Id like to hear about it yesterday.
The (federal level) Democrats are the same socialists in sheep's clothing they have always been. 'Nuff said.
Do we want to blow our money on foreign military exercises and bailouts of greedy CEO's who are completely out of touch and too good for most of us? Vote "R."
Do we want to create an overtaxed nightmare of mismanaged, porked up social programs of massive proportion that can only be handled in true DC fashion? Vote "D."
Both parties are currently doing nothing more than trying to push all the right, folksy, grass-roots buttons so that they can win elections and live out their power-trip fantasies on our dime.

To 2:37 I have only been to Canada twice but in contrast to your sheltered
experience (cna't decipher from your comments if your were a draft dodger
or a missionary)on both flights home I met people who were coming to the states
for medical treatment for serious problems who would have needed to wait for
months to get help under the Canadian medical, read that government plans.
