U.S. didn't hate Palin's performance; Utah loved her

Wasilla Alaska is 1/2 the size of Richfield Utah--
Sounded like a Miss American Pagent to me--all fluff and no substance--some eye batting and winking at the judges--who does she think we are--
and I am a women--she does not represent me!
But did you already forget the Clinton years? Plenty of corruption to go around there.
Let's face it. There are good and bad people on both sides of the aisle. So, the question at hand is who do you trust now? McCain or Obama.
I'd have to go with McCain. And saying he will be the same as GW Bush is like saying Obama will be like Clinton or Carter. It's not a fair or accurate comparison for either candidate.
Oh, and you who keep telling us that we're dumb and stupid for not supporting your candidate, that's NOT the way to convince us otherwise. Just a hint there. You might just want to take that one to heart and quit shooting yourselves in the foot. Oh, that's right, you don't like guns either. No wonder you can't shoot straight!!
Biden also had so many "misspeaks", he made himself very unconvincing.
Which do you think will represent the Average American better?
We are all in for a ride, and it may be "Change" but it won't be for the better.
Michael Moore loving, latte drinkers, I will take
Palin any day..
DREAM TICKET IN 2012, if McCain and Palin lose..
Palin and Jessie Ventura...My dream team.
In fact, I chose homebirth for my Downs son--condemn me for my choice of where to deliver, too.
I chose alternative therapies for my baby, rather than send him off in a little bus for full-day "early intervention".
I chose homeschool for my son.
Lots of people criticized some or all of my choices, but they were MY choices, made in the best interests of my son and my family.
I am equally sure that Gov. Palin and her husband have carefully considered their choices, too.
As for her daughter being in the spotlight--it wasn't until Obama's supporters set up an internet campaign accusing Palin of pretending to be pregnant to cover up her daughter's pregnancy and saying that her DS baby was actually her daughter's that she even allowed the news of her daughter's pregnancy to become public.
I see a lot of hateful hypocriticy here!
Rebuilding the military, building alliances to fight other people's wars, enticing more people to enlist and prepare for war, and giving better benefits is not change.
If we turned from our employment lifestyle that causes stress, pollution, disease, accidents, afflictions, wars and conflicts, we would not need universal health care, social services like welfare and pre-kindergarten child care.
Alliances would not be needed if we turned from our lifestyle of building military weapons, manufacturing, processing, and transporting food, goods, and people around the world to creating a garden paradise that supplies our needs in our communities.
Now we recognize we are going the wrong way and real freedom will only come when we make a complete turn in the opposite direction... a turn toward the wisdom of God where a garden paradise has all the riches we will ever need. Pray; the way is prepared before us.
That we think for ourselves!
I think that Obama is going to win the election (He will not be getting my vote, but neither will McCain).
What would be interesting is that a 3rd party candidate were to win in Utah. The Republican Party assumes that they automatically get Utah's votes. Voting for a 3rd party candidate will not change the outcome of the election, Obama winning, but doing so might help voters across the country look outside the 2 party system in the next election.
We could show the country that we don't agree with Obama but we do not want 4 more years like the last 8.
Utah realizes its more important to have people with character, sound minds and understanding of the common people in office. People who know right from wrong, know the right answers to basic moral delemas. Etc Etc Etc, The vote in Utah has nothing to do with party, it just so happens the republicans are conservative. IE like people in Utah. If democrats were pro family, against abortion, against gay marriage and others similar delemas, Utah would be abnormally pro democrtat.
the question is...would you...i mean RIGHT NOW would you vote for Palin for President? This diffence in poll numbers shows how out of touch with reality Utah is
We all vote our best interests. I really don't care how Barbara Streisand and George Clooney vote, much less what Europeans or the Middle East think. If they want to pay my taxes (much less stop being parasitic mooches), I'll listen to what they have to say.
Otherwise, I'll vote for who I want to vote for. There are two sides to every story. Why the intolerant liberals can't understand that is beyond me.
You all think you are smarter, more intelligent, critical thinkers, free thinkers, etc than those who don't agree with your positions. Why are your positions any better than anyone elses?
A better question is why is the rest of the country so willing to go down the path of socialism with Obama/Biden instead of for personal freedoms and states rights? What does that say about the rest of the country?
@Igor...what does that say about your candidates um, who aren't in office right now....
Conservatives do think for themselves; they don't just tow the party line....Look at what the Democrats did to Lieberman for thinking differently on 1 issue; the other 99 times he voted with them....
Seems to me One Question that it is your kind that needs some introspection and different views.... Socialism has never worked anywhere....
Here's a question for you SP...if we all used our critical thinking skills and came to the same conclusion as you, wouldn't we all be the same? Oops, I mean...wouldn't we all be sheep?
Thanks for showing your critical thinking prowess....Palin wiped Biden all over the court. It wasn't even close. The question is why can't you see that your ticket is made up of professional liars who the MSM let's get away with it?
Biden= Global Warming is 100% man-made....one of the funniest lines of the night....are you going to defend that lie?
McCain is a philandering hothead who changes his mind every 48 hours depending on the press he's getting. But he's the guy with values? Palin has an attractive smile, and is confident, so she should be elected to federal office? You people really are setting the bar too low.
What's amazing to me is how many of you think putdowns are actually going to win someone over to your cause.
Everyone in our country is worried and/or angry about our situation. There's plenty of blame to go around.
We all want the same things - peace, prosperity, happiness. The big question ought to be where is the common ground? How can we work together to make things better? Both sides must make compromises. If not, we're in for real trouble.
Thanks.
Yes it is unfortunate that Carter had to face double-digit interest rates during his administration. It was amazing what the Energy Crisis could do to our fragile economy. Were fortunate that he got the right man to fix the problem, not with a bandaid, but with a real economic turn-around solution that provided a genuine fix to the economy.
Im not following you on the dot com bubble. I cant find anything that attributes the spending habits of speculators with Clinton. Exactly how did Clinton cause this fiasco? Im just not finding it in my history sources. Even so, you seriously cant compare the dot com bubble to the situation we are in right now. I mean seriously, a few wealthy speculators over investing in a technology and eventually rights itself compared to being on the brink of complete financial meltdown.
It sounds like you may have lost money in the dot com bubble. Did Clinton force you to make your bad investments, or are you just going to blame him?
The vast majority of all climate research clearly shows global temperatures rising, or is this just a smear campaign by us screaming liberals to discredit Bush and his agenda of environmental slaughter? Possibly Biden should have said, 98.7% man made. Would that have saved his honor?
(Sorry Charles. I spend my evenings with my family. You'll just have to wait your turn for a reply.)
It's just about honestly for me and I feel she isn't being honest. And a president to be, should be honest.
One thing that is bothering me is that she said she would cooperate with Alaska's inquiry into her firing an official from her office, but now that probe is trying to be blocked by lawyers.
If she doesn't have anything to hide, then she wouldn't need anyone blocking the inquiry.
It's just suspicious.
We need to know if she is engaged in unlawful activity before voting on her.
I also heard that by her approval Alaska charges women for rape kits. And that is just plain scary. Further victimizing the victim knowingly seems uncivil.
What do you all think?
The problem that Sarah presents to the media is that she is not the typical woman in politics - she is nothing like Hillary. There is such an obsession to go out and get her by whatever means they can. It was so obvious in Charlie Gibson's interview. I lost my entire respect for Charlie for his condescending, peek over the spectacles, and that question about the Bush Doctrine -- Charlie didn't even know what it was himself....
How can she keep within the constitution. She hasn't a clue about constitutional law or any other issue that is important in the lower 48.
If you take the time to read about Sarah you will learn that she has little regard for the truth and is RUTHLESS.
She is not a breath of fresh air. She has the stench of cronyism and me-first politics.
Palin is just going to sit on deck while the less-educated faction of the country hopes that McCain kicks the bucket. If she were to become president, she'd be even more ignorant and dependent on everyone around her than Bush. If anyone can tell me how she is going to provide anything more than good press for McCain, Id like to hear about it yesterday.
The (federal level) Democrats are the same socialists in sheep's clothing they have always been. 'Nuff said.
Do we want to blow our money on foreign military exercises and bailouts of greedy CEO's who are completely out of touch and too good for most of us? Vote "R."
Do we want to create an overtaxed nightmare of mismanaged, porked up social programs of massive proportion that can only be handled in true DC fashion? Vote "D."
Both parties are currently doing nothing more than trying to push all the right, folksy, grass-roots buttons so that they can win elections and live out their power-trip fantasies on our dime.
Vote for anyone but "R" or "D"
