Big Win? | 2:11 a.m. Oct. 4, 2008
You BARELY beat a medicore team at home, and needed the refs to help out. Go ahead and be proud of your guys Whittingham, put any kind of spin on it you want if it makes you feel better. But your team (and especially your qb) aren't that good.

Rushed field... | 3:38 a.m. Oct. 4, 2008
reminiscent of '04 against BYU? Not even close. In '04 I could hardly breathe and I was nearly trampled. and those FG posts were down instantly. There were more people on the field than in the stands. Thursday's game? A mild rushing. Nothing like what we'll do when we clinch another BCS spot. in 6-7 weeks. But this time, we don't touch the posts...they're a shrine of Sakoda's greatness.

After OSU scored I also thought that Utah was going to lose the game. That was an impressive win!

A mediocre team? Well they just beat USC and are considered one of the best teams in the pac-10 this year. (Which isn't really saying much) And needed the refs help?!?! You've got to be kidding me... Even ESPN said it was a good call and they don't exactly root for the Mountain West. But if you replace mediocre with horrible team then you just described BYU's win over Washington perfectly.

While I don't agree with "Big Win? | 2:11"'s assessment of Oregon St. as "medicore [sic]", I'm not sure we've earned "taking the weekend off" prior to the Wyoming game. At the very LEAST, we should be spending the couple of days working on our turnover problem. Our next game will be played AT War Memorial Stadium, against a team who will be playing with a little extra motivation.

GO UTES | 10:12 a.m. Oct. 4, 2008
Look who's talking -BYU didn't play so hot last night against the AGGIES. That U of U game was a fun and exciting game and with a finish like that who wouldn't run down on the field and enjoy the fun and excitement? BYU fans are always such a bunch of sour grapes. From the look on Bronco's face during most of the game he was none too pleased with your level of play.
BYU got help in their win over UW with the help of a ref call and yet you feel that is okay but when the UTES may of may not have gotten the benefit of a refs call you start whining! This is a great year for the Mtn West Conf. don't you guys ever bored with hearing the wonders of the PAC 10, Big 10 or SEC, this brings great national exposure to Utah and even the AGGIES who will get better with each game. I am a die hard UTE fan but I always pull for the AGGIES when they play other teams.

Vegas bowl bound | 11:53 a.m. Oct. 4, 2008
Byu fans know all about lucky wins against PAC-10 foes. You have had two of them in recent history. It was Utah's turn the other night.

Even if Byu is a better team than Utah this year, I know your luck will run out on 11/22/08 when Utah exacts revenge for the last two years. Mark my words!

I think you pretty much described byus win against uw.... except that uw hasn't won a game yet this year... while osu just knocked off the #1 team in the country... so go back in your little bubble and think before you speak....

Leave it to a BYU fan to try and sully a great win. You should not be knocking OSU to bad considering you will lose to them in the las vegas bowl.

Tough win | 3:06 p.m. Oct. 4, 2008
Well, those were tough wins for both Utah and BYU. Utah got lucky, and BYU looked sloppy, so I guess it all evens out.

For BYU, it's hard to keep the pressure on a team you're beating 24-0 with only 3 minutes of possession in the first quarter. I think the Cougars lost a little bit of their fire after the first quarter, and never really got it back.

I thought the greatest play of the game was Hall's pass to Collie, who then went all the way down the field and, after delivering a nice stiff-arm, took the ball to the endzone.

After watching both games, I have to sadly admit that Utah looked better overall than the Cougars. Both teams had their faults, but I think Utah's win was bigger than BYU's.

Listen, all this talk about who's better is kind of ridiculous and purely speculative. Let's just wait until November...whoever wins gets bragging rights, and can talk smack all they want for the next year.

Deal?

To BYU Fans | 3:29 p.m. Oct. 4, 2008
This is what I like, this is what the rivalry is really about, respect. Thanks for your congrats on the win, it was a great game and fun to watch. Congrats as well to the win over Utah St. I hope Utah St can become a better team soon and compete with both Utah and BYU. Some wins aren't pretty, but a W is a W. I look forward to the game in November, and good luck to BYU in the meantime.

GO UTES!!!

question | 3:53 p.m. Oct. 4, 2008
how do you hold a practice to work on your turnovers? Turnovers are just something that comes with being smart with the ball...like holding onto it, or throwing it away when there is pressure and nobody open...

Johnson's problem is just that, he either holds onto it and takes a sack (but fumbles every other sack, so he isn't holding on tightly) or tries to force something, which leads to an INT...

the way i see it, he just needs to be smart...he can make all the reads and has the athletic ability to make plays, we just need him to play with that head of his...thats something you cant really practice, just gotta do it...

i can assure you he knows all the pass plays and routes and could probably play qb with his eyes closed, so its not that...its just him thinking more back there instead of trying to make something happen and getting burned...

Congrats to WSU for smashing the number 2 team in the nation (FCS). Our 2nd and 3rd stringers who gave up the two touchdowns last week shouldn't feel so bad. GO UTES!!!!!!!!

I think it ended up being a big win, but shouldn't have been. The Utes were favored and were at home and had to pull it off late. They showed a lot of poise the last couple of minutes. But OSU is a medicore team and it shouldn't have been that close.
