I've always liked The Boss and The Piano Man but I'm sure not going have my dollars going toward the Obama campaign. I guess I'll vote with my pocket book by not going.

If we're lucky Joel will drive his Ferrari to the concert with Obama seated next to him.

I dont need to rely on pop stars to generate money for my campaign. I'm getting so much from my in laws and their organized crime family contacts. Its OK, I'll make sure I pay them back in spades when I am elected. My name is John 'Insane' McCain and I approve this message.

I need to rely on pop stars, divas, braggarts, airheads, trial lawyers, radical homosexual groups, union goons, and various and sundry extremist know-it-alls and politically correct do-gooders to generate money for my gossamer campaign.

Dont worry, Im getting so much money from like-minded brothers and sisters in and out of showbiz, fellow socialists, and fabulously wealthy America-haters like George Soros that a few million here and there from the Mafia wont mean much at all. Anyway, being from Chicago I am certain no tainted money will filter into my campaign funds.

If I am elected, I am certain none of the above altruistic dreamers expect any sort of payback. We are all just one big happy family. My name is Barak Hussein Obama and I approved this message, I think. (er-r, ah-h, I mean unless it doesn't pass muster with one of our focus groups.)

Only in Utah can a self-made, highly educated man, born to a single mother, put himself through school, build a career as a man who has always put others ahead of himself, who has a lovely wife who gave up a promising career to stay home with two girls with their one home and car....can be an elitist,

compared to a ne'er do well, who had every opportunity, who gloats at how poorly he did in school, who cheated on and abandoned his first wife for a rich socialite, who has said in interviews that this is the most time she has spent with her husband in 20 years, that he was never at home while their kids were growing up, who has umpteen cars, ten homes, unfathomable wealth.

Who is the elitist again? Who is the family that demonstrates family values?

Yeah, just checking, I know: this is Utah.

To: 2:36PM,

Your interpretation. You mentioned elitist. No one else. You are reading into the comments something that wasn't stated or implied.

The guy's politics are just wrong. That's the issue.

Oh, you forgot to mention McCain's stay in the Hanoi Hilton.

Not all readers of the Deseret News are Utahns or Mormon.

Speaking of elitists, I don't suppose too many commoners will be at that concert with ticket prices ranging from $500-10,000.

Just another example of media bias.

Nowhere is mentioned the McCain Benefit Concert in Branson, Missouri on the same night: The Lennon Sisters, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lewis. And, it won't cost 500 bucks to get in. Admission is free with a donation of a bottle of Metamucil or a box of Depends.
