CPS is quite the clown. They want to control the girl thru a lawyer that she doesn't want and as if that isn't enough they want to control the mother by controling her choice of lawyers.
Even Walthers doesn't get it......

Perhaps CPS will allow Nancy Grace to represent the mother. After the legal show Malonis and Nancy can meet on the show for a good laugh.

The girl will be eighteen in less than a year---then she can do what ever she wants incuding the CPS to stuff it. I know its not "Christ LIke" but I would be in CPS office the day I turneed 18 years old, and make their life unhappy with lawsuits against everyone envolved.

It may not be "Christ Like" to sue people for trying to help you but it certainly is American. YeeHaw!

I hardly think Teresa Jeffs can do whatever she wants after turning 18. She will probably have to sleep with that middle-aged man, Raymond Jessop.

For all we know, this period in her life may be a great relief to her as she isn't under any pressure to have sex.

Additionally, she has the opportunity to connect with the outside world and see that people are not evil.

Gal 50..... If that man isn't in jail when Teresa turns 18 you can bet the farm on the fact that she will go to her "spiritual husband"
She would do it now if it wasn't for the courts.......at 17 she can chose anyone she wishes....except Raymond.

Don't these state attorneys have anything better to do then haggle with FLDS mothers and children?

Gal50: the outside world raided the XYZ Ranch and took away everybody under 18. It would be a very reasonable conclusion that the outside world is indeed evil.
CPS just cant stop harrassing people.Let Annette Jeffs have a new attorney. How dare CPS question the ethics of others when they have none themselves.

I am surprised nobody has commented on how ironic it is for a CPS attorney to question another on the Rules of Conduct, especially considering who resides over that courtroom!

After all they kept silent on while presenting false information to the 3rd, ethics is not a topic that court can brag on.

Great article Mr. Winslow

What ????.....Not a stacked deck??????

Walther signs the warrants on CPS advice.....appoints the girls attorney on CPS advice ......and is now considering CPS advice on the mothers lawyer.
Then again CPS has asked for a "mulligan" on discovery procedures......
Someone needs to get the kangaroos a seditive before they jump out of their own pouches.

Malonis claims that Jessop coerced Teresa to avoid the grand jury. I'm sure Malonis, when asked to substantiate this claim, asserted attorney-client privilege.

Something stinks when a lawyer doesn't have to provide evidence to back their claims...looks like a loophole in the law to me.
What's done is done, I know. But the problem ain't fixed. The wheels just continue to spin on Malonis' hang-ups. A couple of weeks ago two whole days in court were spent just to decide who Teresa's lawyer should be. And now another two for her mother's lawyer. That's a pathetic waste of resources.

WOW!!! The FLDS apologists are REALLY out in force tonight. The phone lines must be smokin' to whip 'em up like this!

Darn..not another apologist accusation. Looks like the book peddlers sold another copy. How about a real comment ....something like flds sympothizer or is that label worn out by now?.

I am not sure how it matters that Ms. Shockley once represented a child. This is especially true since there were at one point about 460 alleged children involved, each with a different lawyer. Probably every family law lawyer in Texas has been involved in this case, and with the number of sister wives Annette Jeffs has (which may be as high as 80, I am not sure even Warren knows what the number actually is) someone having such a relationship to her as daughter of a sister wife has little meaning.
This is especially so since if we believe the CPS the YFZ ranch is one big happy family, or unhappy as they would say.
This seems to be an attempt to exclude Ms. Jeffs from getting a new lawyer. Why the CPS has any interest at all in keeping Ms. Jeffs from changing lawyers still baffels my mind.
If someone can explain if this is a normal proceedure or just a bizarre turn that is unique to this case I would be glad to know.
