After BYU took their zone defense to task, Gerry was their only chance to win and he did. Coaches use tape from that game when playing Jim Boeheim or the zone.

I've always thought he was a late round gem that would work in the Jazz system. Runs the play, shoots the lights out and doesn't complain. Good safe option to have in your back pocket. However, his teammate Hakim Warrick is another player that would work well in the Jazz system.

You're an idiot. He is just there for a practice body and to play in the pre-season...who cares about his "critera." Who would you prefer by our 4th string pre-season only PG?

We know he is a scrappy player, hustles and can shoot. IF he can defend other guards in the league he has a shot at making the team. But's he is only 6'2" so he'll be likely guarding the point. He is just like Jaycee Carroll. If either were a few inches taller they could be a better version of Korver.

Syracuse High School didn't even exist when this article says he played for Syracuse. And they'd never match up a boys high school team against BYU's team. The author obviously doesn't know what he's talking about.

That very clearly makes a reference to COLLEGE!!!! It does say his COLLEGE CAREER at Syracuse. Please learn how to read before you post anything.
And if anyone has watched him they know he is a very dangerous player. He hustles and some how makes plays. Too bad he isn't bigger. I wish he was like 6-6 or so then he could play the 2-3 and that would be awesome. Too bad though.

The Jazz do not need a new PF. Boozer is a great rebounder and a good scorer but what they need is a shot blocking center. I like Memo but come on he is terrible when it comes to interior defense. Get a shot blocker that controls the paint since that is the role of the center not the power forward. How come no one got mad when Memo disappeared in the playoffs and Booz didn't but now that Booz had a bad playoffs everyone wants him off the team. He is a very good player but not a shot blocking center and that is what the jazz lack and that is what will put them over the top.

Gerry scored 35 in a game last year in Serbia, and his passing rivals Steve Nash-- nobody is a winner like him-- 55 in hs state semi(41 in first half) vs. undefeated defending state champ--6 3pters in first half against no.1-Kansas--- 43 vs. BYU in NCAA game-- 2006 Big East says it all--- He would scrap in the NBA, shoot the clutch shot and win just like Jerry Sloan did--- give him a chance!

If not the Jazz, some NBA team could use him at backup point to run an offense, hit some shots, play 5-7 minutes a game and no doubt he is better than a lot of players at the end of the bench currently in the NBA!

Gerry is all heart and there isn't a team out there that couldn't use more of that. He was able to inspire passion in both fans and teammates when he was at Syracuse and responds to adversity as well any player I've seen play. Never will I ever stop cheering for Gerry Mcnamara.

I totally agree with Jeff Gerry is a great player and any team would be lucky to have him. Move on is stuped and he doesn't know what he is talking about.

PS: Lets go Syracuse lets win it all this year just like Gerry and the rest of the 2003 Syracuse team.

How Gerry has not made an NBA roster is unreal to me. His career he avg. 16pts 5.9assts 3turnovers and 2 steals per game in one of, if not the toughest college conference. I love Johnny Flynn to death, but I think Gerry is every bit as solid a player, a natural born leader and plays with more heart that 90% of todays NBA players. Its such a shame that he can't even land as a back-up point guard for a team. He is probably more talented than 40-50% of the guards sitting on the bench in the NBA today. Being from Maryland I would love to see the wizards sign him. Other than the always injured Gilbert Arenas, Gerry is better than any other gaurd they have. Its obsurd he can't sign on with a team.
