Utah is a steady history of lax ethics and rife with conflict of interest problems since and before it became a state.
Interestingly, over the past few election cycles here in Utah, it has been the Republicans who have consistently shot down attempts at making the electoral process more transparent...
So much for the honesty and uprightness of the party of Utah values...
Vote straight Democratic ticket in November 2008 to get some REAL things done, instead of more of Bushnomics and Reznick/Butters crapiolla.
This reminds me of a college buddy who celebrated when he finally passed his Calculus class with a C-minus (after failing twice). He shouted, "Hooray, I'm adequate!"
A D-minus is definitely nothing to celebrate. We voters should demand much better from our legislators. We should hold them accountable for their lack of disclosure and resistance to finance and ethics reforms. But then again, this is Utah, so having (R) next to your name is good enough for the vast majority of voters.
Lot's of luck getting that changed.
Perhaps its the laws, not the Lt.Gov's office who should be addressed in comments here. Mr. Davidson does a fine job of pointing that out, I think....
Our moms will be proud...
Bad Laws
There is no Law in Utah.
Quite clear many of us recognize the problems going way back to the beginning and before Statehood
First is no seperation from the LDS Church
This is a must so people are free to choose
This may be Utah, Just the same this is the United State in America, Not a seperate Country like Cuba
The only way for change is voting incumbunts out and Republicans with LDS leadership ideas
Elections are important..think about it!
