When they beat you, they are all about getting in your face. When you beat them, they put their tail between their legs and hide.

Nice work Sparrows!

Skyline Choke | 8:08 a.m. Sept. 13, 2008
What is going on at Skyline? Either Bingham is really bad this year or they had one heck of a bad night to lose to skyline. AF is not a good team this year and neither is skyline at tnis point. Skyline is lucky they are in such a weak region this year with the exception of Alta. They will make the playoffs only to lose in the first round. My prediction is they are 500 at best this year.

hahah look at your own school. they wouldnt even shake our hands. great respect
AF is lucky. | 12:09 a.m. Sept. 14, 2008
You know the same side judge called multiple penalties in the game that every one was in favor of big possesions for AF and every one was questionable. umber one a very suspect pass interference 3 and 19 that gave AF their second 7 points. Then a 2 very suspect personal fouls that the player was clearly in bounds on both of them. The last one gave AF another 3 and long conversion. Skyline needs to quit punting inside the 35 on fourth and less than four yards, it cost them against both Highland and AF.

get over it | 9:45 a.m. Sept. 14, 2008
Skyline wasnt the only team with questionable calls..its the name of the game. Skyline was out played Friday night and couldnt handle it. move on.....
re:get over ir | 3:09 p.m. Sept. 14, 2008
No...they weren't. if you look at the stats skyline should have not only won that game, they should have butchered AF. THEY HAVE 100 MORE YARDS OF OFFENSE!!!
Anonymous | 5:45 p.m. Sept. 14, 2008
dang.. since you say skyline should have won that game, if you complain to the league maybe they will give skyline a .5 in the win column and say since you guys tried so hard you guys deserve the win too

scoreboard. . . . . :)
Skyline | 9:49 a.m. Sept. 15, 2008
would be 1-3 if the 5 suspended players for Bingham were in the game. Keep in mind they were all starters and a couple of Captains and 2 way players. All the talk about 'Skyline is back' and how they are going to roll everyone and Alta is going down...well that should should end for now. Alta will beat you by 5 TDs. GO HAWKS
Skyline class | 12:48 p.m. Sept. 15, 2008
Nice!! go to the locker room without shaking hands. Great coaching. Great lesson for those kids. Keep up the poor sportsmanship.
Wow | 9:49 p.m. Sept. 15, 2008
Skyline has no class at all! Boo hoo we lost the game, let's run and hide in the locker room. I hope you lose the rest of your games for that kind of classless act.
unfortunate | 9:57 p.m. Sept. 15, 2008
It's unfortunate not that the ref made those calls, but rather that the Skyline players weren't disciplined enough not to make those mistakes. Both teams played a great game. American Fork struggled with stopping the run early and Skyline had difficulties in stopping the pass. There were actually penalties against American Fork that allowed Skyline to get their last score. Penalties are part of the game and refs make judgement calls. The pass interference towards the end may have been questinable, but the late hit was obvious. Coulda... Woulda... Shoulda... it's preseason, learn from the past

It may be that Bingham would have won if those starters had been in the game but it's better that they weren't. They broke team rules and were properly punished for it.
I think that Bingham didn't just have a bad night against Skyline, they had a bad first couple of weeks. It seems to have taken them until the Fremont game to finally recover some of the attitude they need to be a winning team. By attitude, I mean more concern for the team as a whole.
As for Skyline having more yards on offense, forget about it. Stats don't win games, points do. I've seen games where one team has dominated in every statistical category yet lost.
Not shaking hands after the game is over just shows a lack of sportsmanship. Not that I'm surprised by Skyline lacking in that area. Win or lose, you have to give respect to deserve respect.
shaking hands? | 1:16 p.m. Sept. 16, 2008
I think that there should be some sort of penalty for not shaking hands. Good sportsmanship is regulated all through the game so it should continue to be regulated AFTER the game instead of being left up to the mood of the coaches.
To Shaking Hands? | 10:24 a.m. Sept. 17, 2008
What are you talking about? Do you know football? I'm a Hillcrest fan and I know that you can't penalize a team after the game is over! Punches were thrown after the game by AF. What are the refs going to do? Subtract points? That was an ignorant comment. Go Huskies!
To Shaking hands | 9:38 p.m. Sept. 17, 2008
this is a physical sport, you have emotions running and people getting mad because they lost anything can happen, remember the Hunter brawl last year?... ya that is why some coaches have to say no shaking hands you either go straight to the bus or to your locker room. no need to have football players arrested, and suspended just because while they shake hands someone slips a smart remark and punches are thrown.
BT | 11:49 p.m. Sept. 17, 2008
From the article: "As soon as the final whistle sounded, a Skyline coach sent the team to the locker room without shaking the American Fork players' hands. Longtime Eagles coach Roger Dupaix immediately sought out Cavemen Coach Davis Knight to apologize.
"I'm not sure what happened," Knight said. "Roger came over to me and said if he'd known he would have called them back." - If the situation had been bad enough that a fight between the teams was a probability, Roger Dupaix would not have thought that sending his team back out to be an option.
It's true that, in some situations, keeping the teams separated after a game is over to avoid a fight is the best course of action. This, if the above quote is an accurate portrayal of Roger Dupaix's opinion, wasn't one of them. It's obvious that "To shaking hands" is simply trying to justify poor sportsmanship. If the head coaches of both schools thought the teams should have shook hands, your "explanation" is just a poor excuse.

that wasnt a real hillcrest fan because they were probably at their own game and how would they know if punches are being thrown??
and hunter started the fight and ran at af so stop putting the blame on them
BT | 1:44 a.m. Sept. 20, 2008
Hillcrest fan, it is possible to penalize or punish a team after a game is over. If an infraction is on the part of a player, that player can be suspended for the next game. Same with a coach. In this case, if the UHSAA, the district or Skyline thought that an assistant was responsible for Skyline's team leaving the field as they did, that coach could be suspended for one or more game(s). That is, if they thought the post-game infraction is considered severe enough. Witness: West High School's head coach being suspended for post-game comments about the officiating in their losses to Juan Diego and Tooele.
