More wasted money | 12:23 p.m. Sept. 8, 2008
Here we go again, with 100+ year old technology. We tear up all of the old Bamberger tracks which led to most of the outlying towns and up the canyons, and sell the property, now we have to buy it back, tear down the buildings on it, then build a new track system which was in place.
While there is no doubt that we need rapid transit, why don't we put in subways or monorails? They may cost more but are nonintrusive and much safer than streecars which drivers run into and people jump in front of, not to mention that they take up much needed street space.
