Paramount's logo has given millions a peek at Ogden peak

This story could make a good geography exercise in a classroom. How about a lot more stories in the same vein?

Thanks for validating a story I thought was simply legend! I grew up in Ogden and heard this story from my mother, also an Ogden native. I'v always wondered if it were true or simply legend; now I know. Because my ancestors settled North Ogden, Ben Lomond has always had a special place in my heart. Thanks for giving it the honor and recognition it deserves.

LIke Lisa, my ancestors settled North Ogden (we're probably relatives!) and I grew up hearing the story of the Paramount logo. I was born and raised in Pleasant View, and there is a spot half way between the two towns were the mountain looks just like the logo. Fun story and fun memories. Thanks for the article.

The Wasatch front is a shining jewel in the rocky mountains. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful, magnificent, inspiring location. I go hiking every week in these wonderful mountains. They are a major part of my life. I've been planning to hike Ben Lomond, and now I will always be reminded of my home when I see that Paramount logo.

According to an oral tradition, one of my wifes ancestors, from Scotland, first looked at the mountain and remarked how much it resembled a mountain in her native land named Ben Lomond.

My ancestors are from Scotland and have said the same thing. Also, I've never heard the Paramount legend, but having grown up in Ogden, I've *always* thought the logo looked similar. I thought it was just my imagination, and never really thought much of it other than that.

That's interesting. Supposedly my great-great-great grandmother named Ben Lomond Peak because she came here following the LDS Pioneers. She named it that because it resembled Ben Lomond in Scotland, where she had grown up.

If anyone has any references, that would be awesome if you could share! I'm researching the topic for a class and need some references!
