Have you tested the innumerable religions that say YOU are wrong? Have you tested Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Catholicism, or even the past religions of the Greeks, Chinese, Celts, Mayans, etc? Who knows, maybe the true god is Zeus and the world is in a massive apostacy. We have to rely on reason or we are doomed to confusion. If there is a god and he is merciful and loving then he will not care what rituals we performed, what holy books we read, what religious zealot we followed or what prayers we uttered but how we devoted our lives to fulfilling and positive relationships with other human beings. Otherwise your god expects us to follow a religion based on 'faith', 'personal knowledge' and anecdotes which would leave us totally impotent in finding the truth and would mean that god uses the same methods for convincing people as conmen and frauds.

There have been many religions since the beginning of time. And no one knows what is really true even though some may claim they do? We only wish and hope that each of us may have the true religion. What we cannot see does not tell us enough about anything, except that we are a living organism.

All the religions you named were started by men and named after men. Therefore they are churches of men not GOD.

Others you mention are not religions but civilizations, what I am supposed to do with that?

If it is Gods church or Christ's would it not be named after them?

If it is someone else's church would it not be named after them?

The number of followers does not constitute truth.

A lot of people have gone to see batman does that make it true.

A lot chidren believe in santa does that make him true?

Of course there is only one true faith, while many may be good and can give you some of the truth, why would you want to settle for that?

RE: 5:33 Yep, there are the Jehovah Witnesses, the church of Christ, among a few of them out there. I suppose they must all be true... Including Flds? However, It all looks like a big farce of man made indulgence to me.

I said the "past religions" of those civilizations-not the civilizations themselves and you're right they're all the creations of men, just like Christianity and Mormonism.
Science is steak and religion is tofu.

We are all animals who love to eat each other. We humans are scrumptious tasting to some other animal, as they are to us. Animals do not worship anything but their next meal- Kind of like the human animal. I can definitely say that I have a testimony of eating FOOD.

I feel that one of you has completely missed the message in my posting. First, I did not suggest that you accept anything based on the fact that it may or may not be proven. I only suggested that you keep an open mind and not shut out the possibility. This is how great discoveries are made. Regarding intelligent design, I only pointed out that life is not as random as we had thought previously. Again, you must keep an open mind in order to discover the truth. What we think of as fact on one day can be shown to be false the next. What ever religion or faith you follow don't shut yourself off from learning and asking the next question.

Okay, I'm open to anything, but until evidence and reason demonstrates a theory has some credence it is nonsense to accept it. Such is the case with religion. Certainly it may be possibly true but with the current evidence so overwhelmingly absent for belief in any deity not to mention any specifics on that deity-embracing belief in religion is as absurd as embracing belief in fairies, green aliens, or a host of other questionable phenomenon.

On intelligent design until you can show a mechanism which explains the origins of that design and give demonstrable proof of that mechanism's existence you aren't engaging in science by saying something 'looks designed' anymore than stating that it 'look pretty'.

I think it is nice that President Uchtdorf has brought some new blood into the LDS church. I am tired of the holier than thou pioneer stalk of know it alls, who are as well about as humble as a den of rattlesnakes. President Uchtdorf really believes in what he is doing, where many members pretend to believe and totally FAKE IT! President Monson made a good choice of counselors. Maybe now there is hope for the church after all.

Alma 32 is a manipulative promise meant to drive the person to the conclusion of faith. Simply because something 'swells within you' no more means 'the seed', ie the Church, is true than feeling 'swelling within' after eating green jello at the Ward Picnic.

Every people has a right to support legislation which they feel is best for society but we also have the right to ridicule those that support legislation simply because it is dogma which is unreasonable and illogical.

Truth is not defined by its source, but by what IT was, is, and will be.

So whether IT is discoverd by science or religion truth is still truth.

It is kind of sad you live with such a narrow perspective of things and live in such small world.

By your definition what is better for you tofu or steak?

Religion isn't a reliable process for discovering truth-as evidenced by the innumerable factions of religions. Science does not always create consensus, but there is much more consensus in scientific fields than religion has ever enjoyed.

The world I live in is much more complex and large than the simple minded fairy tale world religion would have us believe in. It is, for example, far more fascinating and expansive to understand the incredible process of millions upon millions of years of the earth forming and life evolving than to simply state that God poofed earth and it's life forms into existence through his magic ways.

What you say beyond that is your opinion, but the truth will never be confined, like you are wont to do, to one source.

But if want to believe in a man fairy tale like evolution, you surely can.

You religionists are all the same, when you realize that you have a logically indefensible position you simply spout out scare tactics about your imaginary hell. Making up an pretend afterlife with punishments for not believing a certain way has sadly has been successful on millions of fools.
