One thing the writer totally left out of this story is that Google has been a blessing to millions of people every day, saving time, finishing tasks, always available and free. I think it is a totally amazing invention that has changed the application of technology; maybe the greatest invention ever.

I wish there was a way to control the filth that is so pervasive. Some things I do not want to invite into my home - ever.

Absolutely amazing at what Google has become in only 10 years. Who would have thought? They have done some amazing things that have truly revolutionized the world. And for those who believe in the LDS teachings of geneology and temple work know that a search engine like Google is a necessity to get the work accomplished.

You know you have arrived at the world's biggest stage when your company name Google (a noun) has now become a common place verb ("Google it"). If only I would have bought a lot of their stock 10 years ago...

Go Google!
T-Mobile | 1:51 p.m. Sept. 6, 2008
Google's first phone with their "Android" operating system running on HTC's hardware will be available on T-Mobile this year. It is an open source OS. Rumored pre-sale to T-Mobile customers only in September for $149. Many are claiming it will be an IPhone killer. We shall see. It will have a QWERTY board which is an advantage over the IPhone. The phone is supposed to be T-Mobile's first 3G phone as well.

I went ahead and downloaded their new Google Chrome web browser on my laptop the other day, and so far so good. I would like to know what do you think of their new web browser?
More to this story. | 3:03 p.m. Sept. 6, 2008
In the seventies the evil US government started worked with a group of intellectual elitist from University of Utah, University of Michigan and I think it was UCLA. The government give away your tax dollars to scientist to do research on developing a way for computer systems to communicate. This research was done by Department of Defense. The first network was ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network).

After millions of tax dollars were spent, we had the Internet. Without the Internet funded by your taxes, their would be no Google. Google shares sell for over $400 a share.

How many billions of wealth in the private sector of our economy was made possible by big government spending?

Like Rush Limbaugh likes to quip "it's wasn't a zero sum game!"
Google is awesome... | 5:20 p.m. Sept. 6, 2008
and I agree with all of the above comments.

Even though the government started the Internet with our tax dollars...look how it's stimulated our economy. I'm sure they've more than made it back in taxes paid by google alone.

Also, I find it interesting that goolge's slogan is "do no evil" or whatever. As a school teacher that teaches Graphic arts and allows students to use the Interent, and as a parent, and as a human being...I wish that google did a better job of filtering porn and other trash.

They have done a fairly good job of keeping someone who in not looking for porn from accidentally finding it (comparatively), but, they need to do MUCH more to protect our children who often cave into curiosity and then get hooked.

Anyway, I use google for LOTS of stuff. Shopping, searches, maps, books, etc.etc.etc. LOVE IT.
