Huh. For someone with so much executive experience, she sure seems to be running scared from any scrutiny.
Truth hurts.
In any event, I would much rather have her situation then obams's well known associations with self proclaimed terrorists.
Talk about a heartbeat from disaster!
Sarah has obviously scared the Democrats TO DEATH.
Nationwide, there are about 42 million registered Democrats and about 31 million Republicans, according to statistics compiled by The Associated Press.
What an offensive comment. Who made you judge?
I don't know about you but I would rather have a grey haired old guy with some experience under his belt as our President over another "slick willy" with no substance.
Have we forgotten how well he served without Washington experience? How quickly many of us forget! He certainly did not know about foriegn policy. He was a movie star who wanted to make a difference.
Palin just might surprise the skeptics. She is a Governor and a Mom who wants to make a difference!
Next time you feel she does not have experience think about what Reagan did!
If anybody is scared, it's the McCain campaign. Pick a running mate and then hide her from the press? Nothing fishy there...
To Kathy in Virginia: Ronald Reagan was Governor of California for 8 years. I agree that he had no/little foreign policy experience, though. He was also President of the Screen Actors Guild, some leadership experience there. I also agree that he was a very good President with limited experience. For you information Michael Reagan, son of Ronald Reagan, has stated that Sarah Palin reminds him of his father, in the female form. This should be a great compliment to her.
We have also had other Presidents that had little foreign policy experience that we have elected in the past: Jimmy Carter, the peanut farmer, turned Governor of Georgia, and Bill Clinton, lawyer turned Governor of Arkansas. Palin running for VP does not scare me she is not running for President, McCain is!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes....
And Hillary got 18 million of those votes- beat Obama.
But the Super Delegates picked Obama because I guess he was better looking....
I guess the DNC thinks we are stupid-
McCain gets my democrat vote-
And yes, you need to be scared to death.
If you want to open up baggage, lets talk about Obamas associations with terrorists, or his wife embarrasment to be American, or his racists preacher.
An you want to question Palin's character?
McCain/Palin 08!
As you've no doubt read, when he floated the McCain-Lieberman concept last week he got shot down by several factions key to his support base. His other liberal choices got similar reactions. So the only scenarios where he HAD your vote were non-starters.
If you want a read of how much mileage the Republican ticket got from Sarah Palin, both the Most Commented and Most Viewed categories on YouTube were dominated by various videos of her RNC speech for the following couple of days. Who knows how many views she got in addition to the 37 million who watched her live.
The most brilliant part of McCain's VP strategy, as pointed out by one of the pundits, may be that Sarah Palin was the only choice that energized the ticket enough to create a "coattail" effect to would win back a few seats in Congress.
It's great to see that most Utahans agree.
It might be the same ratio of people who believe in little green men, that the moon is made of swiss cheese, and that Elvis is still alive.
4 in 10? I am a true believer in marketing!!! What a sales job the gop has done. whew!!!!
He rightly denounces Obama for lack of experience and then selects someone with even less experience to be his VP.
McCain is not in perfect health. If elected he may survive the stresses of that office for the full term. However, even if the chance is very small that the VP may have to fill the position, there is that possibility. Therefore the VP must have as much experience as possible.
Given some of the information on the internet regarding Palin's past political dealings and some of her responses to the media that have not been totally truthful, that also makes me reluctant to vote for McCain w/ Palin as VP. I want the liars and deceivers out of Washington and don't want to replace them with more of the same.
Though I consider myself republican, I think that Ralph Nader or some other candidate will get my vote this year. He will likely not win, but I'll have voted my conscience.
We will get the president that we deserve. Lord please help us all.
The (liberal) media will have plenty of time to gnash their collective teeth at Palin. Plus, if the Palin reportage is not having the desired effect, they can always make something up (see Dan Rather).
Palin over Biden? Are you nuts? Biden has served the same amount of time that McCain has. The difference is he hasn't been George W's lapdog. Plus, he respected his family by not having numerous affairs...not to mention he didn't marry into his money, he worked for it.
At one point Republicans need to STOP and THINK. Contrary to what the Republicans are thinking, this election is not about personality, it's about issues. Anyway, if it were about personality, McCain is still dead in the water, he's a hothead.
That's a lovely thought, really, but if you're basing your vote on cinematography, this country's really in trouble.
I'm pretty sure Father of 5 was commenting on Palin's baby (who has Down syndrome), not the camera work (by the way, cinematography employs actual film, while videography--what you meant--involves electronic media). How were you able to find something cynical in that? Put the Kool-Aid down, and step away...
Yo, "Billy the Kidd" (sic). Bong water should NEVER be ingested. 'nough said.
Jess (10:26 pm) - Bush? Gore and Kerry were worse than Bush? There isn't a human being alive today that is worse than Bush (though DC & co. are up there).
Prosecuting an unjustified war that has so far cost the lives of better than 4000 soldiers, sailors, and airmen--and purposely misleading (read: lying to) the American public in order to do so is the greatest betrayal of the public trust.
When this Bush leaves office, it should be to a destination NOT of his own choosing. And the George W. Bush presidential library should be accessible only to those in orange jump suits.
