The Moab airplane crash is very similar to a private plane crash shortly after takeoff near San Diego circa 1983, killing all aboard including a friend of mine. The plane had a gasoline engine and was mistakely refueled with jet fuel [kerosine] during its refueling stopover at the San Diego Airport. Within 3 minutes after takeoff, the kerosine reached the plane's engine, the engine quit, the plane fell out of the sky, crashed in a parking lot, and burst into flames, killing the 3 passengers. Careful questioning of airport personnel revealed the tragic refueling mistake.
