USU football: Schedule only gets tougher for Aggies

This article is right on. If your offense relies on the running game, you have to to get 200-250 yards from the run, or you're in trouble. Unfortunately, the Aggies have struggled the last 3 years to get 100 yards running. This isn't acceptable. They have to find ways to open holes for these running backs. Also, we absolutely needed a win in LV. I can't believe we let that opportunity slip away. UNLV will be lucky to win another 2-3 games this year. This was a game that was very winnable for USU.

I was at the game in Vegas and the truth is that UNLV could have score 40+ points if they would have left their 1st team in. USU defense was in what looked like a prevent defense with 10-20yd cushions and UNLV's QB was throwing 10yd passes when ever he wanted. their #2 could not throw at all.
The only reason we scored in the second half was because UNLV put their 2nd team D in and Borel was the leading rusher because he had more carries than anyone on either team, mostly broken plays and all of the running backs carries were up the middle, nothing outside.
The Defense was terrible and the play calling was worse. Coach Guy blames the turnovers for the loss instead of his poor coaching, if his defense could have stopped UNLV they would not have scored on either turnover.
They also looked like they gave up early in the 3rd quarter as they did last year. Guy does not play to win, he just plays his games with personnel, who should be playing?

It's a good thing Utah and BYU are visiting Logan this year. With Utah State fan interest in Aggie football at an all-time low, the visiting Utes and Cougars will be the only thing that draws anything close to a capacity crowd at Romney Stadium.

Once again, the Aggies are looking at another 2-win season. It's just a good thing that basketball season starts in less than 3 months.

Utah State should be playing San Diego State this year. The game could save the job of one of the two head football coaches. Will Guy and Long be looking to swap jobs by November?

Neither will be a head coach at a Div 1-a school next year.

USU needs someone with a potent offense. This is the WAC after all. If the Aggies can score 35 to 40 points with regularity, they'll knock off teams from time to time. Who cares if the other team scores a boat load of points if the game is exciting and we have a chance to win?

Guy's philosphy of defense and a running game don't jibe with the Western Athletic Conference.

It's H.S. football in the Texas panhandle for some guy.

I already pity the fans of the Texas HS panhandle team that has to watch this style.

I like the fact that Guy tried to build the team with freshmen recruits (unfortunately, we can't out recruit other schools any easier than we can outplay them). Now we need somebody with a little offensive imagination and some charisma to come and try to take this thing to the next level. Boise St found some coaches like that, which helped them make the jump from the Big Sky to a legitimate D1 program. Can't we do the same????
