Nice family. I would have kept it quiet and worked out a settlement. I've given my kids tens of thousand of dollars to help them out in life and it has paid off many fold.

Sure it teaches the kid not to steal but wow.
I would have told them that it was a misunderstanding and made my kid work his butt off.
What the world is coming to today when parents can't teach their kids and work things out with them.
