McCain chooses Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as running mate

PRO-LIFE means NO-CHOICE.
Sarah Palin ADVOCATES the PERSECUTION and PROSECUTION of ANY WOMAN who FOR ANY REASON seeks an ABORTION.
Women of America, if you believe in the PERSECUTION and PROSECUTION of ANY WOMAN who FOR ANY REASON seeks an ABORTION, PLEASE VOTE FOR Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin was a beauty contestant.
Hmm . . . .
The man does have a type.
Oh wait, the Evangi's don't think we're Christian. Dang!
You Mittonites ought to think twice. Mitt was and is a pragmatic utilitarian. That means he applies an economic cost-benefit analysis to everything he does. That is why he flipped and flopped on key policy issues depending on the particular race. That is why his commitment to the implications of his (and my) religious convictions has been so weak at times.
If Mitt had solid conservative convictions and principles, he would have been a much more believable and attractive candidate...but not as attractive as Palin.
And yes I am a solid LDS member, graduate of BYU as well as of Mitt's eastern school. I know Mitt and respect him for what he has accomplished, including his sacrifices to support McCain.
But McCain hit the ball completely out of the park today!!! (And Mitt could learn a lesson from the complete commitment to solid conservative principles shown by Palin).
Think of it this way - we're missing tens of millions of Americans who were aborted - over half of whom would have been Democrats, since they are more likely to get abortions. Sort of shot yourselves in the foot 30 years ago...
Too bad she is also the worst Vice Presidential candidate in U.S. history.
It comes to this: If McCain crokes, can you imagine her standing up to Vladimir Putin, Osama bin Laden, Iran, North Korea, etc?
This chick is better at home watching her kids play hockey then jumping into a "nookcler" war.
Biden is what, the third most left-leaning (I refuse to call it liberal--I consider myself a classical liberal, which is not the same thing at all) Senator in the Senate--after Obama and Teddy Kennedy.
I may be LDS, but I'm glad Romney isn't on the ticket. He doesn't need to be connected with McCain, whom I like only very slightly more than George Bush--which is to say NOT MUCH!
But Governor Palin--now she might just surprise us all.
I support McCain/Palin
at this juncture of history. Yes, experience counts if it's based on correct principles, if not it's a liability both on the domestic and international fronts. Additionally she is there to serve the nation and not her own ego.
Let's see--How much experience did the gov from Arkansas have?
However, that is not the case. McCain knew, because of all the stink in the media over Romney during the primaries (agree with it or not, it was primarily over Romney's religion) that he (McCain) would experience considerable backlash for picking Romney. (Picture Huckabee making phone calls to friends pleading with them not to trust a Mormon while publicly claiming he supported McCain 100%).
Thus, it seems the realities of the situation dictated that the "best qualified" was not the best, given the situation. Sad.
I will say that tactically speaking, McCain definitely pulled a rabit out of his hat.
Palin is:
- female
- married
- a parent (with kids still at home!)
- a state governor
- staunchly conservative (to include firmly pro-life)
- from a SOLID middle-class background
- a no-kidding NRA member
- a Washington outsider who oozes "change"
Some Dems will try to laugh and pass her off as a silly lightweight but intelligent Dems know McCain just landed a half-dozen violent bashes to their face.
McCain 2008!
ROMNEY 2012!
I will say this. If Obama wins and can't bring whatever change he is promising, we are all in for a big surprise.
Oh and anyone who has made any comments about Palin belonging at home as a wife, women may never talk to you again because you're a male chauvinist.
"#2: Palin believes that Creationism should be taught in public schools, which runs both counter to well-settled evolutionary science, and to the Constitutional separation of church and state."
(Good Lord!, we can't have this! Oh, wait a minute. You don't believe in God, do you?)
"#3: Palin is a global warming denier, who (as with her views on evolution) has expressed skepticism about the well-settled science."
(Shock!, she has the guts to doubt bad "science"?)
"#5: Palin is rabidly dedicated to drilling in the Artic wildlife refuge, known as ANWR."
(I'm sorry, you'll have to say that again! I'm having a hard time hearing you because I'm a wee bit tired from pushing my car to work....)
MAN!, DO I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Massachusetts and voted for Mitt Romney in 2002. However, Mitt's stunning flip-flops on basic issues like abortion, gay rights, taxes and the environment have led me to question whether Mitt is even capable of truth.
I am greatly relieved that Mitt Romney will not have access to nuclear weapons.

Let's be fair: Romney *is* a competent bureaucrat - and there are many places in DC where he might serve. The Oval Office? plainly a bad fit for him; Secretary of Agriculture? fits him like a glove.
Lets hear it for Mitt, our next SecAg.
Go ahead and vote for abortion; go ahead and vote for massive gun control; give your vote up to further the homosexual agenda, and the socialization of America; go ahead and vote for Black Liberation Theology racism. You sure showed us.
I was hoping it was going to be Romney too but I love the Palin pick. I've never heard McCain put Mormons down or Utah. I don't understand why Mormons would vote for Obama aka Senator Infanticide? I was under the impression you guys were value voters but Obama is all about abortion on demand, a gay agenda, and very liberal causes. AND IT WILL PASS b/c DEMS will control Congress and the White House?
As for the think resume, Palin ran for office in 1992. Obama was listeing to the audacity of Rev. Wright and hobnobbing with William "Let's Bomb" Ayers. Palin is governor of a state boring Canada and across from Russia. Give her some credit people before voting for a street agitator.
Uh, yeah, let's take a guy who earned a Baker's Scholar in his Master's business degree from Harvard, a guy who has made umpteen millions in business for decades, whose speciality is turning around failing companies and minor, 2-bit events like the Olympics and let's put him in charge of farming.
Is that passing anyone else's common sense test?
Didn't think so.
I don't know what Cabinet position is responsible for growing our nation's wealth and using our money responsibly, but if Mitt can't be VP, I'd say our nation puts him there.
1. If Palin gets her way, the LDS position on abortion will be illegal.
2. McCain chose hail-Mary politics over country with this choice. Instead of choosing someone ready to step in and save our country, he chose someone he hoped would be ready to step in and save a few votes for him to save his campaign.
Yeah, and your man Obama did the same thing.
Do you REALLY think that Obama chose Biden because he wanted a "stronger #2"?
Get real, anyone with a brain knows Obama chose Biden because he wanted Biden to strengthen the #1 position on the ticket, and ONLY the #1 position.
Obama could have made much more politically expedient picks for his #2. He chose Biden because he's the most capable of being president if need be.
McCain's choice has nothing to do with our country's future past November.
I am a working father with healthy children. It's hard enough to pull everything together and keep on top of all I have to do. Honestly, how can a father with two children have time to run a country? When all is said and done, a father will always put his children above his job. How will Obama manage as President?
