According to Tom Holmoe, the south screen will be replaced in two years giving it much better graphics too.

BYU fans are a stiff necked people. A new scoreboard isn't going to change anything.

There will always be stiff necks at BYU. A zebra can't change it's stripes.

Great no more stiff necks. Now what about the swelled heads?

stiff neck | 8:59 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Yep, I'm a stiff neck. I am soooooo arrogant. I am very self righteous. I think I am better than you because I am a BYU football fan. Wo is me. I shouldn't be a BYU football fan. Afterall we play a weak schedule and a weak conference. Why oh why should I even cheer for BYU. The talk shows and media are correct. I am the worst fan ever. I should cheer for the yewts. They are the better team with the better schedule. There shouldn't even be articles about BYU because it only makes us BYU fans worse as we gloat in our glory, history and ourselves--we are so much better than all of you out there. I am a stick neck and you have certainly convinced me to change my ways.

Whoa Nellie | 9:08 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
No matter how good the equipment and technical aspects of the scoreboards there is still that human factor that will nullify any investment made in video screens. As long as amateurs (students) are manning the video cameras the replays will still be pathetic. Even coverage on The Mtn. is better than anything that has ever been shown on the LES NuSkin video screen.

Nevertheless, I would rather be a stiffneck than a redneck at RES.

Nice Board | 9:12 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
It's always nice to see there are so many "clever" anti-BYU posters out there. Is that really the best you can come up with?

I like my stiff neck and swollen head. I am glad the previous posters are perfected.

Go Cougs.

APX? | 9:35 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Who the heck is APX? Is that Automated Power Exchange, which has no business whatsoever in Utah? The company operates in power markets like California and Texas.

All it takes is a scoreboard | 9:39 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
All it takes is a new scoreboard to fix the stiff-necked people? Does it also fix those with a hard-heart as well?

APX is an alarm system company based out of Orem. They are one of the fastest growing alarm companies in the nation.

But it's still an alarm system company so you can bank on it being out of business in the next couple of years.

Ray | 10:28 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Now if they can just get the audio to match the video that would be great. Every time they run some video piece the audio is off with the video which is very annoying. If I was a sponser I would really be ticked.

You need to take a class in the physics of sound. The audio can't be matched up with the video unless they place speakers right next to you.

The sad thing about this video screen and all others is that the advertisements take up more space than the screen. I know they paid for it, but the commercialism is bothersome. I don't want to be reminded of Omniture or lawyers or that kind of stuff when I'm watching a game. Can't someone anonymously donate money and not ask for their good deed to be broadcast to everyone? If only I had 6.5 million laying around...

Stiff necks | 12:00 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
C'mon you got to admit that was funny.

And it was nice to see 'stiff neck' acknowledge what has been known for years.

Dude, what we don't all like to admit is how similar our schools are and our fans are. It's fun to have a rivalry. I like to dismiss any Y accomplishments and celebrate their failures. It's all in good fun.

If you are bored waiting for the season to start, go to youtube and check out, 'how to kill a cougar'.

Oh and neither U or the Y is going undefeated this year, sorry guys.

Yeah! A "NuSkin Scoreboard" to report the "Yost Extra Points", and the soon to be "Big Mac Touchdowns", "Smiths Safeties", "Pampers Punts" and "Maceys Kick-offs". Dont you love Sponsor Events, er I mean, Football games!!

Let's give the Cougars a good old "Preparation H cheer"!!

Hmm... | 12:33 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
This looks like a nice addition to the stadium, but I wonder how "up-to-date" it really is if it is controlled by a computer that runs on Windows XP. XP is an obsolete operating system (albeit far better than DOS which the old scoreboard ran on!) so I hope there will be a path to upgrade to a more current version of Windows (Vista? - Heaven help us!) or possibly, Mac OS X.
This is being nitpicky, however - thanks to all those who made this possible and I'm sure the fans attending the games will enjoy the improvements. Have a great season, Cougars!
